Atari Flashback!
I've had this for about a week now, so I've played some of the games, but not all of them. Here are the early results:I had the atari 2600 when it came out, and I had a ton of games, so I have a reference point to which to compare. First up the console--the switches have been replaced by buttons. Small disappointment, I would have preferred an exact replica of the original. I first saw this product in the store a few weeks ago(unlike the Nintendo retro games, these were actually in stock). Atari 8 flashback gold. Then a few days later, I saw online they were coming out with the deluxe version, which included paddles. I decided to go with the deluxe. Here is the review:Thumbs up:--the joysticks. Looser than the original, they work just as good. What's even better is they put some buttons on one of the joysticks so you don't have to get up and go to the console every time you want to change games, like you do with the NES. That is a HUGE plus. Also, the joysticks are wireless--another big plus. I have not had any lag problems.--menu layout. Every game is represented by its original cover art--love that idea! Nice touch.Thumbs down:--paddle controllers. One of them does not turn as smoothly as the other, comes across as cheap. Also, in the game Breakout and Super Breakout, the paddle flickers as you move it, there isn't a clear, smooth image of the paddle. This makes it pretty difficult when the ball picks up speed, as you try to hit the ball with a blurred, flickering paddle image. I wonder if the connection with the pins is bad.Another thumbs down with the paddle controllers--they are wired, and the wires are not long enough.Regarding the games, I've only played a few, here are the reviews:Space Invaders--I think they used the arcade version. Great! The 2600 version was always inferior.Frogger--They used the arcade version. Awesome! This game plays great. Once again, the 2600 version was considerably inferior.Breakout/Super Breakout--the most addicting game I've played in the bunch. However, it's hindered by the fact the wires are not long enough, and even more so, the paddle flickers when you move it, making it difficult to hit the ball as it picks up speed. The original 2600 always gave you a clear paddle image, so it can be done.Indy 500--virtually unplayable. They force you to use the joysticks for controls! There's a reason it came packaged with the special driving controls.Championship Soccer. Just like the original. A personal favorite back in the 1980s.Missle Command--2600 version. Would have preferred the arcade version.atari climber. Never played this one before. I thought it would be a knock-off of Crazy Climber, but it's actually a knock-off of Donkey Kong.So far, hits and misses. The menu layout is beautiful, but it's ultimately limited by the primitive games that the 2600 produced. There are a few that are still addicting--Super Breakout is the most addicting so far of the bunch. I will continue to add to this as I play more games.

it did come in original box and
so I was hesitant on buying this from the reviews, now I'm glad I did, I say ignore the bad reviews because it came in good condition, and all cables and controllers are included, only thing I didn't like I thought was dumb was that you need to unscrew the door battery for the wireless controllers,it came with original box in good condition (nice box)it came with instructions and setup and on the back of the instructions it had a poster*Controllers*it came with two wireless controller joystick they are light weight but I didn't notice input lag and it's nice to not have to worry about wires, one note mine were already synced when I added two AAA batteries.**NOTE: IF YOU ARE USING THE WIRELESS JOYSTICKS MAKE SURE THE DIAL PADDLES ARE UNPLUGGED OR THE WIRELESS JOYSTICKS WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY, OTHERWISE THEY WORK PERFECTLY.the dial game paddle were fun to use and worked great they were in good condition as well light weight you just plug them in and they are both chained together.*Atari*the atari itself was clean it came with the power adapter, an HDMI cable, all the switches, buttons work on the console but I don't like how the HDMI is on the side of the console but I can live with that.it was easy to jump in and out of games with the wireless joysticks it has start rest and back buttons right on the controller so you won't have to get up all the time to reset or switch games.*menus*there are several sub menus favorites, recent, alphabetical, Atari games, Activision games, you can add a game to you favorite buy pressing right on the joystick on the games menu, there are a lot of fun games and fan favorites and a lot of fun to be had you can get lost for an hour in breakout or Frogger alone.I would say that this little system is worth it, it came with the original box instructions all controllers all cords it was like I bought it new only complaint was that I need a little screw driver to open the batter door for the wireless controllers, I have not had an Atari before but I say ignore the bad reviews I was hesitant too but it was worth it it's a lot of fun.

Cool Retro Game!
This is a 180 reversal from VR gaming and needing the latest, most expensive graphics card! For those of us who had an Atari when younger this game brings back fond memories! The system comes with paddles which are needed for games like Breakout and Circus Atari (which was always my favorite game to play). I looked through the games available and it's going to take me a while to try them all out! Space Invaders is still a classic! This Atari is going to be an fun party game for people whether they have played before or not. Many games support two player mode, and if you buy an extra set of paddles games like Breakout can be played with four people. The graphics are definitely dated! Space Invaders looks good, but Circus not so much. Using the paddles takes some getting used to and they don't work as smoothly as I remember. The paddles were probably properly calibrated for old TVs. Now the calibration is probably just a little off.The one of thing that I was kind of disappointed by was that there really wasn't any "value add" done. It's like a huge box of cartridges and nothing else. (I don't know some of the "newer" games and whether they maintain state between plays or not.) I would have liked to see the system capture and report my high score from the game. Let me enter my name or initials. Let me family compete for the high score list like we did on the old arcade video games. All in all a fun video game! I look forward to going through and trying all the games that I could only dream about owning when I was growing up!
