Lovely box, fabric and great price from Amazon

I bought this product direct from Amazon since every other source in the US entailed very expensive shipping costs. I don't think the explanation on Amazon does this product justice. It is the most beautiful thing. The box is a tiny bit damaged but I wasn't buying the kit for the box primarily. I wanted a challenge and this will be it. There are videos on YouTube to help you. If I wasn't in the middle of another quilt I would be starting this today. I am over the moon with my purchase. The finished quilt will be for a very special person who loves Jane Austen.

This kit has the fabric and pattern/instruction booklet. The fabric included will make the quilt top and binding. Does not include the backing fabric, although there is a recommendation given in the instructions for a coordinating Riley Blake fabric. The kit I received did not include the decorative box, but for the lower price as compared to other sellers, that's not a problem for me. The template included in the instruction booklet is a paper template and NOT the acrylic template that is sold separately. I would highly recommend purchasing the acrylic template as it helps you make sure the diamonds are cut and marked accurately. I used small baggies to label each of the different diamonds as I cut them out and labeled the bags per the instructions. That method worked well to help when piecing each long strip. Final tip is to make sure when you cut the 'S1' small sashing that goes between each diamond, that you cut all from the right side of the fabric, so the angles go in the right direction. This is stated in the instructions but it's easy to overlook and I ended up cutting some incorrectly before I caught my mistake. Thankfully there's a bit of extra fabric included so it worked out OK for me. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow - as long as you go methodically it comes together easier than I expected. This has been a great project and is beautiful when finished!

Edited: I showed the fabric to the person this kit will be sewed for, and she loves it!! even though I d prefer a brighter white, my daughter said it wouldn’t match the other colors! She loves it so I’ll be sewing!! Strictly a personal choice!!!The seller shipped quickly and I received this before the stated time. Box was unopened and undamaged. All items were received, including the plastic template.The colors are very dim, the pictures seemed to show the colours as white, and brighter in the blues and pinks. . ( the light colour is actually a very dim off white/ cream) To me the other colours are very drab…. If it was for me I would return it. For those wanting a period piece, you’ll probably like it.The instructions are minimal and could have been more spread out on the pages (instructions are on pages of paper not a booklet. As a beginner I would have liked more instructions!!

Everything was included in the box. Plastic template, fabrics, pattern. There were a couple small dings on edge of box but could have been caused by packaging and delivery. Pleased.

Nice fabric, well written directions. You tube video is very helpful. Pattern doesn't say where to cut the diamonds from the panel. That is right along the printed edge of each one. Give yourself plenty of time there is a lot of cutting. Great pictures and some interesting history. Be sure to get the acrylic template at the same time. The boxed kit says it is in there ,it isn't. It is really needed. I have several other diamond rulers and the angles are not the same. The fabric needed to be starched before cutting. This is a great kit. The pattern is one that can be used if you want to use different fabrics. Just would need to figure yardage to replace the panel.

Kit came in a beautiful box in great condition, fabric looks great, & even came with the diamond template. I can hardly wait to start this project. Definitely worth the money.
