Black Military Style Wool Beanie Hat -Soft Warm Winter Watch Cap

Having spent many years in the Army, I always appreciated the comfort and simplicity of the wool watch cap. Small enough to stow away in a "Butt Pack", Assault Pack (small back pack), or in a jacket pocket, I always had one readily available to put on when the temps dipped below what was comfortable for just a helmet.In civilian life, the watch cap is just as handy and comfortable; it is perfect for hunting, fishing, or hiking. Further, I pack a couple away in my vehicles using zip-lock bags to keep them clean and fresh. I particularly pack one away for motorcycling. It is definitely not something that will work well under a properly fitting motorcycle helmet, but for when you take your helmet off in cooler temps, it offer your head a nice respite from the cold.

One thing I've learned after being sold fake wool products is to always test anything someone claims is wool. The hat I received definitely was. How do you test that? It's easy really. Just take a few fibers from the item and burn them. What do they smell like? If they smell like burning hair you most likely have the real deal. If however they melt, bubble, and smell like burning plastic you've been had.I like this cap and would have given it 5 stars except it is not as thick as I had expected. Still a very good deal for a real wool cap though.

This watch hat is the same as I wore in the Coast Guard years ago. Well made and does a great job keeping my head warm in the frosty weather .we are having. There are no "itching" problems for me! Highly recommended!

Hat is well made of real, dense, wool. Feels like quality piece in hand. Very warm, as I hoped it would be. Only negative aspect is that because it is real wool, (and not acrylic blend or Cashmere) it can be irritating on exposed skin, eg forehead. Not sure you can call that a negative, as you would not wear a wool sweater without a layer/ tee shirt or shirt, next to the skin. I found best use for this hat was to put on over balaclava. Very warm combination.

Purchased for my husband who has been looking for a watch cap for a very long time. Loves it and super warm. We have been having single digit temps and this hat keeps him warm. Good fit and good look. Made well.

This hat is just incredible. I bought it on a whim to round out an order to replace the generic synthetic black watch cap I have for work. Unfortunately the cold weather passed which would allow me to really put this hat to the test but I’ve used it down to the lower 30’s with light rain and it kept my head warm just like it’s supposed to. The wool is a pretty tight knit which is super comfortable. I love this hat so much I’m contemplating wearing it in the summer.

Warmest hat I've had in a long time. And, it covers my whole head and my ears... I have a huge noggin and have to buy the extra-large baseball caps (size 8 fits OK), and often hats are too small and want to slide up and off my head. Not this one.
