Paint Brush Rescue - To the Rescue!
Gosh I wish I knew about this product sooner, I could have saved so much money instead of throwing out expensive brushes after just a few uses (and improper care). I tried this product out in hopes it could save and restore my Purdy Cub brush and in a matter of minutes it looked brand new! Multiple layers of paint and different colors from various jobs melted off. Saved me from buying a new $15 brush. Will definitely keep a box of these on my work truck going forward.

Great for removing paint from dried up brushes!
I have a lot of brushes that I will wrap in plastic with paint still on them so I can go back and do touch ups, however at times there were no touch ups needed or I didn’t want to rinse the brush off inside, and so they didn’t get cleaned and they dried up on the brush. Thankfully I found this product because it worked great and getting about 95% of the paint out of the brushes so that I can use them again. What I like also is this comes with multiple pouches so you don’t have to use it all at once and you can keep them in your bag with you if you are a painter. I found them to work great, I wasn’t expecting a brand new brush after cleaning but it brought them close to new.

Eats smaller brushes
Moving to a new house and selling the old, means lots and lots of painting! We have put our brushes through the ringer. As soon as these packets arrived I read the directions and soaked a set of brushes we had sitting in a cup of water. I soaked them overnight. The next morning the large brushes required rinsing and combing the bristles to remove all of the latex paint residue. It was still some work, but not near as bad as it would have been. Actually some of the brushes were probably not salvageable without this product. It would have been such an ordeal that I would have just thrown them away.My problem is with my smaller brushes. This cleaner ate the glue or metal or something on the brushes causing them to fall apart. My large brushes took much more of the cleaner (one stayed for about 30 hours) but the smaller ones were soaked for a little more than 8 hours and once rinsed they just fell apart. This would be brushes used for cabinets, small trim, that kind of thing. For household paint brushes it worked as good as you would expect from a paint cleaner.

Keep Your Purdy Brushes Looking Purdy!
After renovating my home several years ago, I made sure to buy very high quality brushes once, rather than buying cheap ones multiple times. I had been assured by several friends of mine who used to do commercial house painting, that the extra investment up front would be worth it over the long haul. The tough thing is, that despite being very fastidious about cleaning and washing and storing my brushes, there is always a little bit of paint that doesn't want to wash out. This product can help keep those higher-end brushes looking and feeling like new by removing dried residue. If you're the type to buy a cheap brush and just throw it away, then this probably isn't the product for you. If, however, you appreciate the performance of a nice, name brand brush, and have committed to taking good care of them for a lifetime, then this brush cleaner can keep them in top performance indefinitely. For the price, it definitely pays for itself when compared to buying new brushes. As someone who also does art, it's nice to have this around for stubborn cleaning of art brushes as well. it's nice to have this around for stubborn cleaning of art brushes as well.I would definitely recommend it. It's something I'll continue to keep in my toolbox!

saves my brushes
I buy expensive Purdy or Wooster brushes, but then I treat them badly and feel guilty. They get dried paint up by the ferrule or I forget about them completely and they dry out solid.I tried this on a Wooster Shortcut that I was about to throw out and it really works. It has nylon bristles; the instructions on this specify to not use it on natural bristles. It is basically the same ingredients as drain cleaner so I put on gloves and safety glasses and mixed it in an old glass peanut butter jar. It's designed to mix up straight in the pouch the powder comes in, but my clumsy self was too freaked out to have sodium hydroxide hanging out on my work bench in a flimsy pouch. I felt safer with it contained in a jar. Plus, I can put the lid on it and save it for later in the project.I put the brush in one afternoon and let it sit overnight. Then I transferred it a plastic bucket of water where I rinsed it and scraped the softened paint out with a paint brush 'comb' before taking it to the kitchen and washing it with dish soap and water, wearing nitrile gloves the whole time. After it dried it was good as new. $8 brush saved, just like that.Knowing myself, this will save me money within one project when I don't have to toss 2 or 3 brushes.

Works great!
This product works great for removing dried on paint and stain from my brushes. I missed cleaning up some brushes after some outside work this summer and thought they might be ruined. But this product came to my rescue and cleaned them up well. Which is wonderful that I don't need to throw out my used brushes.
