Makes scratchy DI signal into full / lush sound
For me - this is perfect. I play festivals with 1/2 hour changeovers & I need to plug in & sound good immediately. My Gibson J-45 pick-up is better than some but often the DI sound is scratchy & horrible.I sounds okay through a good acoustic amp but if I'm playing abroad or have to walk to a festival stage carrying an amp is impractical & cumbersome. The Fishman Aura takes your scratchy DI signal and turns it into full / lush sound like it would sound like if the guitar was mic-ed.A solidly built, high quality bit of kit.Things I would change:Swap the bass/middle/treble for a sweep eq & the anti-feed-back for reverb (so you can send the soundman your desired sound straight away).ps. The compression is also excellent.Throughly recommended.

Expensive, good, worth it? hard to tell
I like this. I'm not sure if I'm getting the best out of it with my Yamaha electro-acoustic, but I'm certainly trying. It's very hard to use, and it's very easy to add too much of a "boomy" sound to the mix, and it's that room/real-mic sound that this tries to re-create...Overall, I think it's good...I'm still trying to use it...I just think it's not really worth the huge outlay... I wish something like this had been more easily available in DAW/VST software in the first place...(I should state that I use this mostly for recording rather than playing live/gigging)

Worth The Effort Required To Find The Sweet Spot For Your Guitar
Item arrived swiftly and was well packaged. My experience with this pedal is that you need to put a lot of effort into making the best of it - but it is worth it. You need to find the setting that most resembles your guitar and that will be the sweet spot. You will find that several settings more naturally enhance your sound and need to choose your preferred setting. You may not appreciate its effect immediately but after playing with it on/of/on etc you will and then you just need to leave it on that setting.permanently IMHO.Big downside of this pedal - It is very expensive!

A subtle bit of magic!
A great little bit of kit for very subtly enhancing the sound of your guitar! You can also download the vast library of mic'ed models of classic guitars, alternatively you can use some of the built-in pre-set effects. Basically, the aim of this device is to make your electro-acoustic guitar sound as if it was professionally mic'ed up using a variety of classic studio microphones, thus creating a more natural result. You can dial in as much of this to your sound as you like. There is also an on-board tuner and anti-feedback absorber.

Disappointing.
You can't polish a turd, but you can varnish one. Adding pre-modelled sound your pickup does bring some improvements but at this price you're better off getting a top pickup installed rather than varnishing a poor one.If your sound needs this much improving I would suggest an LR Baggs Venue DI will help mould and improve the sound you have, rather than artificially adding another one. With my K&K pure western it was awful, much better with a straight piezo but not £300 better.

so very pleased with product & delivery
Have yet to do a more comprehensive test(live gigging etc) but it appears to be ideal for my requirements and functions well with both classical (nylon strings) and standard steel strung transducer models. It arrived well within the stated estimated period, so very pleased with product & delivery.
