Definitely worth every penny!
I was a little skeptical about getting this fabric; but once I got it, it was exactly what I wanted! I needed a fabric that was light enough for a lining but not so thin that it was see thru. This fabric was perfect and feels great against the skin. I do plan on purchasing from this company again. The price was great! They shipped my order to me quickly.

Very good, semi-sheer cotton
This is a very crisp, fine cotton that is working up beautifully into Victorian underclothes. It is semi-sheer, but would make a lovely summer blouse either self-lined or whith a cami under it. It has a lovely drape, and should soften more with wearing and washings. It is a little whiter than the eyelet lace it is being trimmed with, which was also sold as white but does not seem to have had a bluing agent applied. It isn't terribly noticeable, especially under layers of clothing. I will be purchasing more for other eras of clothing in future, but five yards seems to be more than sufficient for combinations and a petticoat. You may need extra for ruffles, mine are of a different fabric. It will also be excellent for linings on light-weight garments.

Nice and soft and great for lining summer-weight clothing
This is a sheer fabric and works great as a lining for lightweight summer cottons and not weigh the outfit down. For a casual top with just the lawn itself - I have to use 3 layers of it for the front to prevent any see through and 2 layers for the back.

Nice cotton fabric for garment lining.

Perfect cotton lining material
Needed a very light weight lining for a summer dress. Shrinkage was minimal, I wash all fabric before using.

Itโs ok
Yea itโs ok. To thin in my opinion for clothing but Iโm using it as a table cover. Probably one time use for that.

This us NOT cotton "Lawn", it is merely sheer, lightweight cotton "Lining"๐.
This us NOT cotton "Lawn", it is merely sheer, lightweight cotton "Lining"๐.I'm really dismayed and feel lied to. I ordered cotton, well known to fabric buyers by long tradition. This is not cotton lawn, it is simply lightweight, loosely woven common cotton.Cotton lawn is a lightweight TIGHTLY woven cotton made of long* fiber cotton like silky TURKISH cotton & has a SILKY sheen to it.This is dull and loosely woven with no sheen, and believe or not, slightly rough to the skin, which cotton lawn is not.Cotton lawn is so polished and smooth feeling that it actually feels cool to the skin, like a breeze. With true cotton lawn there is not roughness at all--it is as smooth as satin, yet without a satin weave.I received cotton, but not cotton "lawn", & yet the whole point of buying lawn is that it must be "lawn(!)", not something lesser like this like a super lightweight sheer lining.True cotton lawn is not* sheer where you can see through it like this! Lawn is lightweight, yet essentially opaque, so you can sew a piece of clothing without the need for lining. This stuff needs lining, and I don't care what the manufacturer labels it, it is not lawn. The purpose of buying lawn is to ensure the high quality of the cotton, and THIS is NOT IT! If a buyer wants true cotton lawn l, examine a sample of a trusted* cotton lawn brand first, like Liberty of London* cotton lawn. There is no cotton that feels more premium than this brand--they are the originators (British), and even the royal children are dressed in it.I simply will not accept a lessor quality and still call it "lawn". This is simply lightweight cotton lining and nothing more, so don't get your hopes up.It might do for a lightweight lining, but don't expect opacity. Your finished piece will likely still be too see-through.If that's what you're going for, it isn't really cotton lawn you're looking for.In honest truth, this is simply "sheer cotton lining", even a little gauze-like, albeit, finer than gauze.Clearly it is still useful, but not at a cotton lawn price. I would estimate this to be worth about $5-6 a yard, abd I'm fully aquainted with fabric prices and worth for over 50 years of sewing.Just beware, this IS NOT COTTON LAWN, whatEVER they label it.I can guess exactly who is manufacturing this fabric and fib. They need to change the label to cotton lining in order to be an honorable seller or distributor or manufacturer. BEWARE!
