The uncrowned prince of physical comedy returneth!
I should first mention, that I've seen Mr. Izzard perform this show live in Finland when it was still very early in the Force: Majeure tour, and the difference between what I saw then and what you see on this dvd-video-album is immense. With that in mind, the differences are not only in the level of polish some of the jokes have obviously gone through, but also the material itself is vastly different. Yes sure there are some trips down the memory lane, but anyone who claims this is a recent developement in Mr. Izzards material should go watch his previous shows. It's what he does! Refences to older lives shows are abundant and at least personally I enjoy the little nod he thus gives to those of us who have enjoyed his shows for a longer period of time and are capable of remembering them in more or less blurry detail. In fact, compared to seeing him live for Force: Majeure, this dvd-release felt like a wholly new show to me. Some might think that's a bad thing I guess, but I personally consider it a tribute to the amazing talent and creativeness Eddie Izzard exemplies so well - for me personally. This show in question is a collection of sketches around the concept of Force Majeure, an idea anyone who's familiar with signing contracts or other legal documents should be comfortable with; the fact that there are always events outside of our control, impossible to take into consideration beforehand. While there is no clear linear narrative to follow, it doesn't take a great amount of comprehension to piece together how the Kraken, British/French Rulers, religious beliefs, war and technology are linked to the overall theme. The physical comedy and sound effects Mr. Izzard is well known for are still a major part of the show and the funny. Be warned though, there are a great many Steves in this show, and not so great many monkeys as one would expect. Nor Mrs. Badcrumble. There are however several really hilarious new characters introduced, in a guaranteed Eddie Izzard fashion. Not to mention that the level of detail in his referrals to other popular culture, art, history, literature have gotten even more brain twistingly interesting, and intriquing.I highly recommend this release to anyone who has a fondness for Eddies fantabulously obscure and high reaching imagination, outstanding adlibbing and a knack for miming his way out of any joke. Force Majeure is a whirwind of positive energy and a solid Eddie Izzard experience. The show itself gets a 4/5, but the bonus content on the dvd give it that one extra star.

Back on form
And now for quite the opposite.I thought Eddie Izzards days of being really funny had passed, but this is a return to form, and I've been sat here giggling away to the irrelevance like a fool looking at jam made out of old twigs and spit.If you're sensitive to religious nonsense then yes you may find it a bit pointed, however if you're open minded you'll laugh along as he reintroduces a bunch of old characters and chaos ensues!I really felt that this was getting back towards the heights of Definite Article and Unrepeatable, and I gone over all warm, fuzzy, and nostalgic.

I love Eddie Izzard
I love Eddie Izzard, I do. We have all his live shows on DVD, I nearly died laughing at 'Dress to Kill', but 'Force Majeure' sadly misses the mark for me. It doesn't have the glorious tempo of his other live shows. It's a real pity. I don't feel compelled to watch it again the instant it's finished, a real sign that it isn't one of his greats. He looks fabulous though, like he's just come off the set of 'The Riches'.I'm hoping this is just a blip and he'll be back on form with his next offering.

Very good
As usual Eddie has his own style and finds the most bizarre topics which never fail to make you laugh. I bought this as a present for my husband who thoroughly enjoyed it. Eddie is a very talented man, and never fails to impress.

Izzard at his best.
I actually got to watch this during the manufacturing of the Blu-Ray. I had to stifle my laughter as I was sat at my work station in the middle of the production office. That was hard work as this live set is very funny. The deleted scenes too are also worth a watch.Very well written material from Mr Izzard and extremely well delivered in his slightly drunk like way..

Worth Every Penny
Saw his show in Manchester (7th June) and was blown away by how quick-witted and observant he still is after all these years and all those marathons. From the Lord's prayer to Edward the Confessor and dressage burglary to the fall of the Roman empire; all of human life is here..............and the chicken impression is very good too! Well worth every penny of the ticket price and the DVD is alredy on pre-order.

Brings it all back...
saw Eddie in Manchester in the summer - took my daughter for the first time. We were in pain we were laughing so much - we adore Eddie - couldn't wait to see the DVD. It didn't disappoint and brought back lots of jokes we had forgotten about and we fell about again. Pity the DVD was filmed at the O2 in London though.. why always London??! Fab DVD though.

A Wonderful Show
Eddie Izzard is an incredibly talented performer. I've been a fan since I chanced on Dress to Kill years ago. We saw him in person in March 2017, which is 4 years after this show in London was recorded, but the current act was just as fresh as shown in this performance. Force Majeure is very well crafted and each part is cleverly interwoven. The filming effectively captured his physical moves and the audio was crystal clear. Watching this show makes me again appreciate the preciseness and sophistication of his comedy,

Finally!
I've been to Eddie's shows and been waiting for Force Majeure DVD to come out. It's a little different than the show my husband and I went to, but still funny if not funnier.

Edde Izzards "old hat"
Compared to his past work this an only be considered to be "old hat". Not only does he "re-hash" a lot of his old stuff, but the supposedly "new stuff" which he uses as filling material is generally just ad lib craziness(for which he is of course famous) however NOT ANYWHERE NEAR so good as we are all used to. Eddie should buy an island & retire - he gave us a good run for our money but now he's "empty".

Recycled but funny
Not his best concert. Eddie is pulled in other directions now, notably acting, but also politics and marathon running, so he recycles some of his best routines. But recycled Izzard is till one of the funniest comics ever
