Super Busy Bird Feeder!
We have tried a few bird feeders this year, some have been given away, some have been tossed, this was a keeper! I have to fill this feeder daily because it seems to be the favorite of the two we are currently using. We put the cheaper seed from the farm store in this feeder, and it still gets all the action. The oversized top, drain holes, and solid sides, keep the food dry. The tray stays full, allowing the birds easy access to the food and they can land on it anywhere to eat. The finches like the little perches so they can get the freshest food. Not that it has a chance to get old in this feeder. We live in the country and really need to put out more than two feeders, but the raccoons will take over for sure, if we do that. We have to keep these close to the house so I can bring them in at night. The raccoons start showing up at about 8pm, they like to eat from this feeder as well since I have located where I do. But that's my fault, not the company's fault. I highly recommend this feeder.

Base too large, but worked w/ base from another product, same brand
The last tube feeder I had of this sort was impossible to thoroughly clean, as like many of its kind, the lowest perches were not removable w/o a screwdriver, making it impossible to clean the bits of seed that would get stuck in between a portion of the base & the tube. This one is a total cinch to take apart & clean - that, the size, and the brightly colored, wide top were my reasons for purchasing it.Unfortunately, the base of the one I purchased, (the purple one), did not screw tight onto the tube, the metal that goes over the plastic jutting out from the tube not tight enough to keep it in place. It would seem to be on & then would immediately fall off the moment it was jostled slightly - and that's without any seed in it. Fortunately, I have the mesh Nyjer/thistle feeder of the same size from this brand & somehow, by some weird chance, the base of that one fit perfectly on this one. I'm not using the thistle feeder now b/c it's been very humid & rainy & the thistle tends to clump, so this is a temporary solution. I think I could possibly pinch the metal down to be more secure, possibly with plyers, but in the meantime, using the other base is doing the trick, at least until I want to use both feeders at the same time.I'm not sorry I bought it - but very glad I had another feeder handy to use that base. I doubt most people would.

Perfect
I love this feeder. Sturdy metal top and bottom. Not good for finch food or any type of food that is just small seeds. It pours put fast and the birds empty it quickly.

Local Birds Love This Feeder!
Black Capped Chickadees, House Sparrows, Wrens and Cardinals are enjoying this feeder in our yard. There are no drainage holes in the tray which is easily rectified using a small drill or a tack hammer and a brad.

Beware
I chose this particular feeder for drawing Finches to the feeder pole. What I didnt realize is the 3 ports on the end of the feeder tube are too large for the smaller mixed seed I offer them. It just pours out of the tube into the small tray and overflows it to the ground below. I blocked the holes off so it will stay in the tube. That just leaves the 2 feeding ports built into the plastic tube. That being said.....Beware as this type of feeder has issues with the bottom tray staying attached. Same as all others of similar type Ive purchased previously over the years. It was stable for a few weeks and then it just loosened up and falls off spilling the entire feed onto the ground. The only way I can still use it is to find some other way to keep tray from coming off. Glue perhaps or simply try to return it. GRRRRR!
