The Ranger has been a huge classic for many years. But now it's lighter.

So far, so good.
Got them for my wife. Miendels weren't quite fitting her so changed to scarpas. Obviously paying a cost for a high quality product, but there been broken in and on a few walks low level. Her feet are comfy and dry. Happy wife......

Great boots for moderate use
Really well made Gore-Tex lined boots with memory foam inner. I now find that these are considered entry level by Scarpa but for my 8 mile walks on rolling country plus the odd Lake District foray they are super. Compared to my fabric based boots they feel very heavy but I think I just need to get used to them. They are 39 which was rated a 6 on my previous boots but these are labelled 5.5 and they are slightly smaller. I wear a thick sports sock with these. Wore double socks with their predecessor. I expect the leather to give over time. I’ve invested in the branded waterproofing wax which really soaked into them from new.

really comfy out of the box and solid boots
Love these boots, they're much more rigid than my old walking boots but I was wearing them for years so they are all worn and falling apart.I got a half size bigger than I am and there's plenty of room in them for thick socks. The laces tie up tight enough that my feet don't move around too much. They're totally waterproof and great for stomping about. My only regret when getting them is that I didn't go for a pair with a bigger plastic/rubber bit that protects the toe more as I've already scuffed them – that hasn't compromised their waterproofness but still...

Expensive not always the best
Paid £162 two Christmases ago,,have worn for two winter seasons,,boots were great,,super comfy and great for our winter walks.however,,after this shirt time a crease developed on the upper surface which quickly developed into a hole.sent back to buyer who said it was a fitting issue despite them fitting perfectly and could only return the damaged boot.for £162 l would have expected years from this product

Not great for ankles
I’ve had these boots for almost a year, and they were great at first, but have since started rubbing my right ankle to the point where it swells for a few days. Sadly, I’m going to have to buy a different pair. I don’t really understand what happened. They are quite heavy, but seem durable.

First class!
Brilliant supplier - so fast and very responsive during lockdown.I ordered size 39 as I’m usually a 6. The boots were perfect but ordered the next size up to allow thicker socks for long walking days. Expected size 40 to be too big - guidance from LD Mountain absolutely helped my decision to go bigger - thank you so much.

So comfy straight out the box!
Lovely boots, they look and feel high quality. Very comfortable and waterproof. I can't comment on durability until I have had these a year. Which is the only reason for 4 stars.Edit - Unfortunately I had to return these in June 2019, after 8 months if wear. They split around the sole and leaked. Such a shame they were so comfy.
