Dickies Industrial Wear DX400 32W by 10L Relaxed Fit Cotton Utility Short Painters Pants, White

I bought it for Fathers Day to give to my husband who loves doing house projects. When I first took it out of the box, the material seemed too hard, uncomfortable. But after a few uses, and washes its become softer and more comfy. Most of my painter pants and shorts are of the Dickies brand. I have been pretty satisfied with this brand, for the most part, though I can tell you that they shrink up a bit (after washing) more than some other brands I have tried. I also wish the pant legs were at least an inch longer, if not two. What I like best about this brand are the multiple pockets of various sizes and the inexpensive price. What I like least about this brand is that the back pockets seem to wear out way too fast. No matter what sort of tool I put in those back pockets, the seam at the bottom seems to rip out in a matter of weeks. I am not a large fellow, nor do I wear my pants in sizes too small for me, so I am really not putting undue stress on these pockets. I don't see why they aren't made to hold up longer.Like I said, they are probably the least expensive painter shorts you can buy, and they are OK for what they are. If you want better quality, you'll have to go with a different brand and pay a higher price. Considering these shorts get a limited amount of use before they are all done in, I choose to go with the cheapest ones, and I found these at the cheapest (non-sale) price on amazon.

It has been a long time since I painted professionally, but I still feel the need to wear whites when I do. I like these OK, but the main reason for buying them (besides the white) was to keep a putty knife handy in the side pocket (I've been using the Hyde 5-in-1 for some time). These have the pocket, of course, but it is just a bit too short to contain the full length of the knife, so it constantly slips out when sitting or squatting. Bummer.

I'm familiar with Dickies waist sizing running small and shrinking further after washing so I ordered sizing up. I usually wear 38 waist in jeans, ordered Dickies in 40. After washing fit was closer to my 38 jeans. It's not mentioned in the product description but the shorts I received came with a Pittsburgh Paint logo patch on the right rear pocket, Dickies logo patch on the left.

Exactly as described. Almost canvas like material so they remain very stiff through numerous wash and wear. I wouldn’t recommend for sensitive skin Or anyone who “goes commando”

This is not a 34w. It is two sizes smaller. Beware 5hat this Chinese product size is two sizes smaller than labeled

So far I really like these pants I’ve been a painter for 30 something years. I really like them recommend them nice winter pants double strength knees. Only if they came in pink

I like these shorts for the reasons listed in the headline: comfortable; washable; versatile; Lots of pockets, yet simply stylish.

Best work shorts out there great fit .

Ordered and received 34W. Was way to large. Measured it to be at least a 36. Sizing appear to run at least one size large.

don't buy these they are no where near the same as original dickies these are cheap knock offs

Perfect for cruise in Caribbean

Solid heavy cotton, sturdy, good fitting shorts. I use them for competitive croquet where white attire is required.
