Good “covers all” ointment
I really like the variability of this ointment! It seems like you can literally use it on anything and everything. I’ve used it on my legs- I have spots on my shins that are always SO itchy and it’s helped tremendously. I’ve also used it on my daughter where she had a skin tag/mole removed and on my sons face where he was bit by our dog. In both instances it’s helped the healing process tremendously and I feel like it’s also helped to reduce scarring! The ingredients are great and I would recommend this to anyone

Able to Get More than One Use From Each Packet, Lots of Natural Ingredients, Possibly Helped
In each packet, there’s a generous amount of ointment/cream for typical small wounds. I was able to put a plenteous amount on some poorly healing areas on my husband’s legs that had gotten scraped up fairly badly. I put a clip on the top of the packet to use the remainder the next day. There is a mild scent of the tea tree oil contained within this emuaid ointment, but not overly strong. There’s quite a lot of ingredients in this medication that do have known antiseptic/disinfecting/healing aid ingredients, although one of the top ingredients was bacillus ferment, which did require some research to better understand.According to my research, it’s considered generally safe and has mild exfoliant and skin brightening properties, but may be somewhat irritating to sensitive skin. The colloidal silver ingredient has scientific backing to be very helpful with stubborn skin conditions, which also may explain why this is rather expensive. The ointment didn’t sting or hurt my husband, but the wounds were fairly scabbed over. I am familiar with quite a lot of the ingredients, and appreciate the combination method of treating not only wounds but also other skin conditions from many angles. I’m uncertain if this helped my husband’s leg wounds heal more quickly or not, but he feels like it could have helped. It does have a slightly greasy feel, but it’s not unreasonably so to me. The last listed ingredient is vegetable oil, which is perplexing to me as the other ingredients make sense, so I’m not clear if this is a vegetable oil like one finds in the kitchen or a carrier oil derived from vegetables that is more skin-friendly (as one would use in an essential oil blend).I appreciate such an abundance of natural ingredients as well as how I can get more than one use out of the individual packets. I’m a bit concerned about the lack of friendliness toward my budget, but I do think that if there’s a wound that’s slow in healing or having difficulty healing, these are worth considering. Thanks for reading.

It’s the Smell 👃
I ordered Emuaid ointment to help with my eczema and dermatitis, and I have to say that it did provide some relief. I have tried several over-the-counter creams and prescription medications, but nothing seemed to work for me. Emuaid was the first product that actually provided some relief from the unbearable itching. However, I have to admit that the smell of the ointment is quite strong and overpowering. It's a very unpleasant smell that I can't help but notice every time I apply the ointment. I also worry that other people can smell it on me, which is not ideal. On the positive side, I appreciate that Emuaid comes in individual packets, making it easy to carry in my purse or first aid kit. I also like that it contains natural ingredients. However, the price is quite expensive for what you get, and I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend that much money on a product that has such an unpleasant smell.Overall, I would say that Emuaid is a good option for those who are struggling with eczema and dermatitis and are willing to overlook the smell and the price. However, for me personally, the smell is just too overpowering and makes it a no-go.

How effective & safe is emuaid's active ingredient (Argentum Metallicum aka Colloidal Silver)?
The active ingredient in this product is colloidal silver. Colloidal silver products were once available as OTC drug products, but in 1999 the FDA ruled that they aren't safe or effective. The FDA sued several manufacturers over false health claims. Since then, some manufacturers have rebranded these products as dietary supplements or homeopathic remedies. That's because these don't need FDA approval.Colloidal silver has been used for infections, hay fever, skin conditions, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support any of its uses. It can be unsafe when taken by mouth, applied to the skin, or inhaled.I wish I'd known this information prior to ordering.

Individual packets a bonus
I'm really happy with this first aid ointment. The ointment comes in individual .1 oz packets that are convenient for travel and easy to store in your first aid kit. The ointment is a thick, gel type consistency that applies easily and absorbs well with minimal oily residue on the skin. The fragrance is a mild tee tree oil scent. It quickly worked for me to help heal a minor scrape. It didn't sting on application, and a single packet went a long way.
