phono preamplifier V90-LPS, black

I have built many phono amps over the last few decades, and owned multiple commercially produced amps, dedicated and built into pre-amps. This Musical Fidelity is the best and excellent value.I'm using this with a Goldring 2200, and it is everything that you would want a head amp to be. It's replacing a Cambridge Alva, which although an extremely well built product, doesn't even begin to come close to this one in sonic performance terms. Buy the Musical Fidelity!

The first unit was spoilt by address labels on the product packaging, I ordered another unit which was sent in a bag to protect the product packaging.The unit is of high quality and easy to install, but probably needs a burn in period to reach its full potential,that said it sounds very detailed and accurate with little noise from the unit.There is a audioble low frequency rumble noticeable at very high volume levels but not enough to cause any problems.I have a Rega MC phono stage which is very good but has considerable noise levels which can be heard at high volume levels.So all round the Musical Fidelity stage is a much better product with exceptional build quality!I highly recommend the product.

Can't quite believe just how good this preamp is, it's transformed by vinyl listening experience. I was using the phono input on my Marantz PM66SE KI Signature amp, this preamp is on a completely different level. I have just conducted a listening test with this against a Rega phono mini, this blows it away, astonishing!

I have owned quite a few Musical Fidelity products and all have been nicely built and delivered excellent performance so I wasn't surprised to find the same with the V90-LPS. No issues there. However I have dropped a star off the ratings because the vendor - Williamthaker - thought it OK to ship the item in only the manufactures box with several shipping labels slapped all over it. As well as showing a penny pinching attitude to cost control it completely spoils the look of the beautifully printed box! Not good enough.

I purchased this on the basis of previous reviews and the fact Musical Fidelity is a solid company producing high end components. I am amazed at how good this is for the money, incredible soundstage and imaging, crystal clear vocals and rock solid bass! I have A+B this with a Project Phono Box DS2, significantly more money, I know it's subjective but in my opinion the V90-LPS is several rungs up the ladder over the DS2!I would strongly suggest auditioning this, we'll done Musical Fidelity, absolute cracker, and too cheap!

This is the second one of these I have purchased as I have two separate systems running.can certainly recommend as it is so easy to use. However if you change your cartridges often then you will probably need something you can Tweak you setting with to really get the best out of it

Using it with a Thorens turntable and Nad amp. Good quality and does the job perfectly.

Good high end and punchy bassI use this to run 2 turntables easy to switch from one to another. Also input level is useful.
