Very handy tool

I purchased this Handi-Reacher for my Mother(i'm playing with it too ;-p) as she has bad knees & back etc.. so this tool will help her with day to day tasks. You can Grasp pretty much anything within reason with this thing, but i do not reccomend trying to lift objetcs that are too heavy with it, as although it's handy, it's not amazingly built which is easy to see when you hold it yourself, it's a little flimsy but does the job. Now, lets face it, these things are relatively cheap so were not expecting something thats going to last forever, but the longer the better, sure.We purchased this product on Amazon through Parkgate Mobility, the order was placed on the 20th February, Shipping confirmation on the 21st February & it arrived on the 23rd February. Shipping & Handling was £1.95, the box it came in was a bit oversized for the item, so it was rattling around in the box & wasnt fitted in tighly with packing paper to prevent this. As you can tell it arrived very quickly & thankfully in working condition.We will see how it goes with this one, my Mother will use it to gently pull items out of the washing machine/dryer to a reachable height so she doesnt have to bend, obviously not fully lifting the items out, other than say light items such as socks or pants, but not heavy duvet's or the like. If it goes well, we will look into getting a 2nd one for other tasks.Quick update, it has been a very helpful product thus far, we will look to get one or two more of these. I was testing out the small cylindrical magnet on it & found it is not very strong. I couldnt pick up a single key on a light plastic key chain with it, but the one key alone, one of those small flat, thin Yale keys, it seemed more possible, although it still took a few attempts.

Looks good but jaws are very small compared to others i have. Will have to restrict use to smaller objects.

bought this for litter picking. I'm 6+ feet tall so needed a longer reach. This is doing just fine and is able to pick up even the tiniest pieces of plastic (and soggy cigarette ends).Because it's an accessibility aid there's a small hook like piece sitting on top of the claw. I think this is to help with pulling up socks and the like. It gets caught in wild undergrowth sometimes, so it can be tricky extracting it. It makes up for itself here by being useful for digging things out when they're smashed into the ground.My only criticism is that the hand grip is a bit on the short side so has irritated my index finger knuckle a bit. I've adjusted my grip to compensate.I've done about 10 or 12 hours with it so far and it's doing exactly what I need it for.

So the product itself is fine. Just what I expected for the price range. But, and I dont know 100% if this is the place to comment in this, the packaging was just OTT. I ordered two and they came in two separate oversized boxes when they could've fit both in one box almost half the width and a third off the height. Eco friendly people, its not just a trend, its important.

I have had one of these myself for years and as my parents are getting much older I thought they might find one useful as wellSo far they have used it to a) open a high up cupboard instead of using a chair to stand on b) getting an item out of a bin and c) grabbing branches from their Tree so they could prune it.Of course after each use they clean it with soap and water.The Grabber is light and the end swivels to reach non straight items.I would definitely recommend it

This is an excellent tool.for picking up things in difficult places around the house.Also for clearing up twigs and cut grass in the garden.

I recently had an accident and ended up on crutches and in a wheelchair. I purchased one of these to help me reach for things and it has been amazing!! It only can I get things that are out of my reach from my wheelchair, but it also has a handy hook on the end to help with socks etc whilst dressing/undressing (I cant bend my knee). My daughter thinks it’s a great toy and even my husband has found it useful for grabbing things that have fallen behind the sofa. This will continue to be useful even once I am a able to walk again!!
