Useful
I did this test soon after I had done a NHS test and it had detected occult blood. I’d been referred to have a colonoscopy. I did this just to see if maybe my NHS test was ‘wrong’.Just in case you don’t know - finding blood in a sample (invisible to the eye) does not mean you have cancer!! But it does mean you need to get it checked with a colonoscopy. It will almost definitely be a polyp or haemorrhoids. But it COULD be cancer. And it could be something caught early could save your life.My colonoscopy found a ‘large mass’ a polyp - 9 cm long. And the doctor thought it could be cancer. I had 2 MRI scans and a CT scan and can now say it’s benign. But due to its size will need an operation to remove. So do not panic if you get a double line. But do make an appointment to see your doctor. It will very likely NOT be cancer but colon cancer is one of the most successfully treated cancers of all. So do not panic!! And don’t throw away your NHS kit sent to the over 60s and most usually thrown away.

Piece of mind
I am a 30 year old currently going through bowel cancer screening which as I’m sure you can imagine, is not fun.I submitted a NHS FIT test (similar to this one). At 5:00pm on a Friday I was informed the sample had been ‘rejected’ and I’d have to submit another on Monday. I was already going out of my mind waiting for these results so this was not great to hear.To comfort myself I ordered this test and it arrived the next morning - I chased the delivery man down the road I was so keen to get hold of this. Did the test and after 5 tense minutes - all clear. I’m still going to do the NHS test but this has given me my weekend back and in the cancer trenches you want to win every small battle you can. I can’t describe the wave of relief that washed over me when I saw that beautiful single red line.

Avoid.
Gave a false positive reading.

Good test kit
This is a good, straightforward test kit. A stick to take the sample, goes into one of the tube, then it get inverted, unsealed at the other end, and sample drops come out. These go into the covid-style test sampler, and after 5 minutes you get the control vs. test result line. All in all a nice simple test procedure.Main downside is the ludicrous instruction leaflet. The font size is tiny. Can see a few people struggling to read the instructions, no idea why they made the text so small. Otherwise, it's recommended.

Great peice of kit and worked well
I am 31 and was referred for a colonoscopy in 2 weeks time due to my stomach problems and the fact I came back with a positive fit test. I decided to take this one as well to see if it would show me any different result considering I was feeling better. Unfortunately it has come up positive for me, and shows that I definitely need that colonoscopy even though I'm dreading it!! Great peice of kit if you feel the need to use it :)

Does the job well for an OK price
I say the kit does the job, but I am assuming the result is accurate. Perhaps it's hard to assume that unless compared to a trusted alternative. Well, I can do that very soon. I carried out the NHS test yesterday and then today this one. The NHS has to be posted and we await the result. This kit returned a 'no issues' result within 10 minutes, so fingers crossed the NHS kit does the same when the results come back. With this one I kinda found my own easy way to sort a sample. Instead of the hammock style approach they propose I simply inserted the end of the collection stick as 'the turtle poked his head' out. This worked very well, first time. Adding the sample to the tube and then extracting the required two drops into the test container were all easy, no issues. Waited ten minutes. End of test.Would recommend, but will edit this if my NHS result comes back any different!

For peace of mind
If you do have any issues with your bowels this test is not a susbstitute for seeing a gp. But if you want some peace of mind this test- is ok. You get the instructions and all the bits you need to be able to get a sample and the fluid to go with it. This detects blood from higher up in your bowels, a sign something might possibly be going on.And if you get a negative, it doesn't always mean that everything is clear, so if symptoms persist then its best to see gp. And take the test with you if it is positive. Test is straightforward to use. No issues.
