Maxx Cricket Premium Wooden Spring Return Stumps with Metal Base - Full Size Set with Natural Finish Bails

The stumps were delivered quickly but when I unpacked them there was only one spring loosely rattling in the cardboard box (two springs were missing) and the stumps didn't correctly align i.e. the bails didn't fit - probably because too many spacer washers were fitted at the base.I'm old enough to prefer phone calls to resolve problems but three times over two days I failed to get through - instead I just got an answering machine, where I left my name and contact details, but didn't hear back.After contacting the vendor via the Amazon feedback form and requesting the missing springs they quickly replied and said springs would be on the way. However, I'm not "always on" and didn't see the reply for a few hours, by which time the vendor had unilaterally offered to replace the stumps completely and wrote to say they were on the way.A few moments ago the replacement stumps arrived and the comparison is:a) Original stumps had one loose spring, which I'd have had to open and close with pliers to get it through the ring at the bottom of one stump. Replacement stumps have all three springs which are factory fitted to the rings at the bottom of each stump (I only have to hook the other end of each spring over the pins).b) Original stumps were misaligned at the top and too narrow / too closely spaced to be able to fit the bails. They also had an odd assortment of one, two, or three spacing washers between the stumps. Replacement stumps have one washer each side of each stump and the bails fit nicely.Negatives: There was clearly something wrong with the QA / final check before the original stumps were shipped. Also, it's annoying when you call the contact number listed for a vendor in Amazon and not only do you just get an answering machine but nobody calls back the next day even when you've left your details.Positives: The vendor responded within minutes to electronic feedback sent via Amazon. They also unilaterally offered to replace the stumps and, in fact, dispatched a replacement even before I responded. The replacement stumps are lovely and everything I (actually my Y4 son, because they were a birthday present for him) was hoping for.Overall four stars: The vendor let themselves down at first but then very quickly resolved things once I managed to contact them.Given the response and their obvious desire to rectify things if something goes awry I would order from them again.As an update: After I'd originally submitted this review (but before it was published) the seller kindly offered something ex gratia. In other words, despite the initial hiccup they rectified it and then went above and beyond. So now very much 5 stars for the overall response and service - they clearly want their customers to be satisfied and get value for money.
