VELUX ZOZ 085 Telescopic Control Rod Adapter for Operating Roof Window Blinds Out of Reach

My Velux window is in the roof. The blind tension is so tight that operation is very difficult using the Velux pole. Stepladder needed. Solution please

Certainly make raising and lowering the blind. A bit fiddly to fit.

Good idea in theory. But it relies entirely on a tight fit by closing a nut that opens two wedge-shaped pieces behind the adaptor into the aluminium end of the blind. This bolt has to be accessed from the side once the adaptor is pushed in place. The bolt is made of cheap soft steel despite the fact that it has to be tightened under pressure. Of course it inevitably burrs and the top of the bolt quickly resembles a shallow pit. Shame for a company like Velux to put their name to a product containing a vital component of such shoddy construction.

I am amazed Velux do not supply this item when you buy the blind and pole on the same order

This really does work. For out of reach windows which you need to use the extendable pole for, this 'thing' allows you to grip on to push and pull the blind. Attaching it, like all velux fittings, is simple and just works as it's meant to.As with all things velux it has a price tag, but in our case it was cheaper than replacing the wooden frame which was slowly being trashed by hitting it with the pole each time we tried to close the blind.

Easy to install but required if using a window pole but not advertised as required with a pole.
