A way to make learning fun
The media could not be loaded. I found this to be quite a good little gadget. It makes learning a game for the child. It has different levels (single digits, double digits, +/- and x/÷) and you can apply a timer. This will prolong the usefulness of the item.It also recharges with USB, which is more convenient than batteries.

Not worth it
Not very engaging toy. Daughter age 7 did not like it. I do not recommend it.

Compact and with quite a range of activities
This toy looks a lot like a calculator at first glance, albeit one obviously aimed at small children (in our case a four year-old). It's not huge but is appreciably chunky and easy to grasp, and the buttons are far enough apart so as to be easy to select and push. What is not immediately obvious at a glance, at least until you read through the description, is that there are actually several number-games/mathematical puzzle modes on the device which take a moment or two to work out how to activate but once going are nice and straightforward for a child to play around with (although some of the more advanced mathematical functions might need to wait until a slightly older age). The sound effects are rather engaging as well, and overall it has been much enjoyed, definitely worth considering if you want something fun and educational to occupy a child with, particularly given the relatively inexpensive price.

Great fun and learning for young children
I ordered this cute dinosaur device for my 7 year old daughter who is very into learning and specifically mathematics. She adores doing sums and playing games involving learning. This device is able to play a tune and speak to you, it has several games to help children practice mental arithmetic and will even challenge some older children, especially in the harder modes and with a short timer set. Some of the buttons have two or three functions to give extra levels to the challenges so there are quite a few, from simple addition to harder division, and there are memory and other number games. The little button on the side sets one of two timers if you want to make this more challenging. Otherwise you can take as long as you like to think about the answer. The display is clear and the operation so simple that you barely need the instructions, which aren't very good to be honest (and also contradict the rating of being suitable for aged 3+ as they state suitable from age 4+)The two-stage power switch sets the volume to loud or quiet but you can long press the side button to make it silent. The best thing about this though is the cheery voice that tells you whether you were right or wrong and encourages children to carry on with 3 praise words including great and amazing. It is charged via a USB port which is nice and simple as I know we all have the USB charger wires hanging around. The colour pink along with the dinosaur shape makes it very attractive to children and the small size makes it easy to carry. My daughter has had a lot of fun so far playing with this and it has helped her at school too.I would personally say it’s suitable for ages 4-5 plus as some of the calculations are more difficult and probably wouldn’t be feasible for most pre-school aged children.

Pink dinosaur number games/calculator
Cute dinosaur calculator that can also be used for number games. There are 3 games to choose - from find the pattern, remember the numbers and answer the questions. If you get the answers wrong you can get the machine to ask the question again and have another go. Perfect for teaching little ones the basics of maths whilst having fun. There is a USB charger that comes with the machine, you will need to initially charge the unit but after that it lasts for quite a while before you will need to charge again, the machine also closes itself down if you do not use it for over 10 minutes. I think it is a good investment.Hope this helps .........

Clearly a clever device but it seems rather complicated and might make maths stressful for some kids
I confess I didn’t really read the listing description on this item. Basically, I saw the picture and thought ‘what a cute dinosaur calculator for little girl’ And ordered it. When it arrived, I could see I’d misunderstood what it actually is.It certainly is cute, a very sweet little pink dinosaur character design. However, it isn’t a calculator. What is spears to be is some sort of mental arithmetic training device. Set it going and it presents a random series of sums on the screen and you have to tap in the correct answer within a given period time. I guess that that’s quite a clever device but I have a couple of thoughts about.First, it comes with a little booklet of instructions but the whole thing is very complicated. I found it a bit baking at first look and I don’t believe many kids would be able to use this by themselves. Second, I really don’t like the timer idea - particularly because it has a tick-tick-tick timer (a bit like the Countdown clock in TV!) and that, for me, feels like it instantly changes playing a fun game with numbers to something rather stressful - can you do? quick quick- too late you failed! Maybe certain kid who are good at and confident in maths will enjoy the challenge. Kids who are towards the other end of that spectrum are, I feel, just going to have their confidence knocked further.Maybe for bright kids who relish a challenge this might be a good idea, for those struggling a bit, I don’t think so.

Fun number quiz games
This looks like a calculator but actually has little number quizzes in it. It’s very cute, easy to use and a lot of fun for my 6 year old girl and gets her practising maths while she uses it so it’s a win winThere are various games included with simple things like addition and subtraction to ten, or higher numbers, put the numbers in order and so on.It comes with the battery already charged and you get a little charging wire with itThe design is very cute. We have the pink but others also are available

A good learning tool, that gives the child corrections to do.
The media could not be loaded. This is quite quirky as it talks to the child and gives encouragement. It let's them know when their answer is correct or wrong, then gives corrections at the end of the sections. There are three levels of difficulty and a choice of type of maths problems plus games that can be chosen that revolve around math. My granddaughter is quite taken with it.
