Great product

Great product for mixed media, great as a glue

I use this medium as an adhesive on paper mosaics and paper collages. It's great. Dries clear. Forms quite a protective surface. You can varnish over it with water based varnish too.

I applied the paste (mixed with acrylic paint) with a syringe and left it to dry. It took a few days to dry completely and the 'pimples' are fairly robust and have maintained their shape.In case you're wondering, the picture is a starfish, turned from tulipwood and carved.

I was previously using podge modge to transfer laser jet images to wood, the results were pretty bad with the image tearing and the edges coming away from the wood. I watched a YouTube video where liquitex was rated best gel medium so I gave it a try.It is amazing! I sealed the wood with 2 coats of liquitex and then applied the image, left it overnight and then began removing the paper the next day. I wet the image with a sponge and rubbed it 4 or 5 times to remove all of the paper and the results are great. There are no tears and the edges are perfect. I haven't sealed the image yet with a gloss sealant but I'm very impressed with the results. If you're looking to transfer images to wood then this is definitely the best product!

This appears to be a very versatile product to use with acrylic paints. I used it to repair a broken leg on a porcelain bunny. After using a fast drying glue to hold the leg in place, I used the modeling paste to fill the gaps left by some small missing pieces. When it dried it was very hard. I sanded it down with very fine sandpaper and painted over that with Liquitex paint that matched the bunny. In retrospect I should have mixed the modeling paste and paint together and used that to fill the cracks. Anyway, I was impressed with how firmly it dried and how well it accepted sanding afterwards.
