Q: How do you know when ready?

The machine stops and beeps. Its ready when it's getting too stiff for the paddle to stir. However, its still soft at this point, to finish it off to store bought consistency it needs to go in the freezer for ~4 hours. I have the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream book and have made 7 or 8 different ice creams from the book. This is by far the BEST kitchen device I've ever bought. I eat the Carnivore diet so adding minimal sugar keeps the carb creep down, and all the double cream is perfect!

Q: To the seller: where can I buy an extra bucket?

I have no certain or definitive answer. However, I would have thought that, in the first instance, you would have contacted KUMIO's Customer Care Centre..? If not, that is obviously the first thing you should do. If only because I am assuming that your machine is still in warranty..? But, if you have not broken/damaged your original bucket, and just want to have another one, then I assume you will need to buy one. Either way, I don't think you can expect Amazon - amazing as they are - to do your work for you. Do you? So my only viable suggestion is to go on line...and take some time to find the right department at Kumio - and contact them direct. Simples!

Q: Why do you put warm water in it?

i don't. I just use fruit, fresh tinned or frozen, milk, half and half cream and low fat cheese spread, (If you use a cheap one, it is not too cheesy.), I make about 400 ml, put it in the fridge and leave until wanted. Plenty for 2 people. This takes about 30 minutes to be ready to eat.

Q: Can you use this immediately or do you need to keep it upright for a no of hours due to having a compressor?

I used mine two hours after it arrived but not because of any instructions. It doesn't say anything about leaving it. I just needed to shop for ingredients.
