So far, so super
This review is for the Thermotech Moist heating pad, King size (26x14"). (Amazon seems to have lumped all reviews for Thermotech pads together. Prospective buyers take note: be sure the review you're checking is for the pad you're looking at!)For all those who depend on a heating pad and are sick and tired of pads that last a week, take half an hour to heat, are flimsy and uncomfortable:This is a super pad. The sewn-on covering is made of a heavy, heavy, twill, with the heating wires underneath encased in plastic (by the feel of it), and the outer removable cover is the softest, lushest, flannel-like material imaginable. The heating wires are densely looped inside the cover -- the whole pad is evenly hot, and it becomes warm in moments. And it's heavy -- it lies comfortably and securely around whatever part you're trying to relieve. I find the weight comforting. The cord is long and a bit more flexible than the stiff, stiff, (cheap?) cords that infest so many appliances nowadays. There's a good bit of cord between the controls and the pad, too, which makes it a bit easier to keep the control pad off the body and in a convenient place for adjusting. The pad's size can make it a little hard to place it so it isn't doubling back on itself, but it covers lots of territory! The controls are great -- two switches, two columns of lights. The left switch turns both columns on-- the pad is now set for 15 minutes' heat and the lowest temperature. Press the left switch again and you get another 15 minutes, up to an hour, while the heat stays where it was set. The hour maximum is not as inconvenient as it might seem if you're used to two-hour cutoffs, because the pad heats so quickly. The pad seems to continue to heat until it's quite hot, even when set on low (the only setting I'll ever need, with this pad -- just as other reviewers say). It's probably designed to be used under one-to-a-patient padding or covering, and mine came with a wide (about 3") belt of very sturdy Velcro type hook-and loop, with a square of hooks sewn into the outer cover. This hook-and-loop strap was always in the way and quite uncomfortable, so I took it off. Well worth a few minutes with a seam ripper to be able to enjoy this pad! Also, the instructions say to wash the outer cover by hand in mild detergent, to keep it fluffy. Soft as it is, it's stayed clean over many more hours than the covers of other pads I've had, so hand-washing may not be much of an inconvenience.Note: I've only had this pad for a few weeks, and am posting so soon only because I saw so many reviews from people as dependent as I on a good, reliable, heating pad, researching replacements for a Sunbeam or other pad that burned out in about a week or was terminally unsatisfactory for other reasons. The pad is made in Taiwan, but seems much better made than any pad I've had. My old favorite, the $50 Sunbeam pad, is now so shoddily made that it's all but useless while it lasts (not long). I expect the Thermotech pad to last for a long time, and Amazon customers will be the first to hear, if it fails.

Excellent all around, large high moist heating pad, works great, excellent quality.
I decided to buy a new heating pad because the one I had was to small, and the high setting didn't work any longer. After reviewing a million of them over a week, I decided to get this one since it seemed to be of higher quality. On the day it arrived I pulled it from its box and plugged it in, and set it at the highest of four choices. I left the room and came back like 2 minutes latter and adjusted behind my back, boy this thing was a lot hotter than I expected. Over the last three days I've only used it on the second setting, as the other two are way to hot. My old ones highest setting only got as hot as this first setting on this one. It has a nice flannel cover, but be advised little pieces of it stayed on my T-shirt afterwards. I would definitely buy this again and recommend it to other. The temperature control on this is straight forward and easy to use. It has 4 temp settings , and 4 timers built in for 15,30,45, and 1 hour I believe. Really nice heating pad, I will be buying one for my parents come Christmas time. This also draws in moist heat by pulling it from the air.

Do you want to be intermittently burned and infuriated? This product is too dumb to exist
I bought what i thought was my very favorite heating pad. It's my third purchase from this exact same store, buying the exact same thing (little notes said "you've purchased this two times before") as they last about 3 years before the metal pieces start falling out and littering your bed. So, i buy the exact same thing, or so I thought.No. No i did not. Well, I DID, but the company sent me this new fangled version that is LITERALLY TOO DUMB TO ACTUALLY EXIST. My previous versions had a regular controller--you selected your time and temp and off you went into deep heated bliss. Sure, you had to turn it on every hour but that's ok.This one? Well you best not have anything better to do then hold a trigger for two minutes until you BURN LIKE YOU ARE TOUCHNG THE SURFACE OF THE SUN whereupon you will release said trigger and immediately turn off the heating pad.Repeat by holding it down again and then releasing it when it gets too hot--literally one or two minutes at a time. YOU HAVE TO DO THIS SO YOU WONT DIE OR SLOUGH OFF YOUR OWN SKIN. There is no timer, there is no temperature modulation--there is only FULL BLAST OF NUCLEAR HEAT or off, and you have to hold the trigger to get it to heat up.Need to work on a computer and type? NO HEATING PAD OF DEATH FOR YOU!! because you can't operate it without a hand on the gas pedal. Oh, oh, you think you're just going to tape the trigger down so you have continual heat for days and can free up your hands for extracurricular activities like reading or masterbation (I don't judge)? Oh friend. Oh....friend....please....no. You will die. You will die a painful skinless death leaving your loved ones to clean up your rendered fat on the couch. That stuff does NOT come out easily! They will need to get a whole new couch?Oh but wait you say....can you just return it? NO TURNS OUT YOU CANT because this company no longer accepts returns! And don't dare get into the vortex of "Amazon Customer Service" because its the only thing that made me irrationally angrier than this product and reaching the company is close to impossible. It required a physics degree, Vyvanse, three apps running and a yoga mat for simultaneous meditation. BUT! good news! i finally got an actually CALL from Amazon who saw my earnest attempt to reach the company to no avail (ever tried to find your messages from vendors on this app? try it. Go on!) and refunded my money. I offered to ship this garbage item back and they said that I could keep it. But I DONT WANT TO KEEP IT BECAUSE ITS INFURIATING.So, anybody want to slowly and carefully but in a very crispy burnt way pi$s off their "loved" ones with a "intermittent selective burning pad"? I'll ship it to you so we can share this ball of rage.

Finally one that works!
I have had so many heating pads over the years that only get warm. This pad actually gets hot! Exactly what I was looking for!

Works as expected
I use the Thermotech heating pad in several ways. I use it in conjunction with my TENS/EMS stimulator on my shoulders. The heating pad is large enough to wrap around my shoulder. I use it on my lower back and, recently, I have used it to help relieve restless leg symptoms. If my body is pressing against the heating pad, the lower two settings are more than sufficient. If I am using the heating pad over the tops of my shins to help with restless legs, the hotter settings are useful.I've owned my Thermotech for a couple of weeks and use it frequently.

Expensive and does not last
Great moist heat if you like to spend over $100 on an item that lasts less than one year.
