Great book for cozy readers
Audiobook ARC provided by NetGalley. Thank you NetGalley and Tor Books!Travis Baldree's writing and his voice feel like wrapping up in a cozy blanket with a cup of tea. His books are feel good fun reads and I am so grateful that I was able to get a copy of this ARC.Since this was an audiobook ARC I'd like to start off with my audiobook specific feelings. Travis is a talented narrator, especially since he is also the author he does perfect justice to the story. His voices for characters are distinct enough to tell the difference between everyone without being too over the top or goofy. It's an enjoyable and immersive listen, very fitting for this book.If you enjoyed the pace of Legends and Lattes then this one will likely also be for you. This book follows a young Viv having a somewhat quiet summer in a sleepy little town. Lots of sweet little moments between characters and slice of life scenes. I enjoyed watching the bookshop change and the characters change as well. I also laughed out loud at some of Fern's cursing.I wasn't expecting to feel *too* many feelings about this book but the epilogue genuinely made me emotional, enough so that I need to go back and give legends and lattes a re-read. I hope Travis continues this series, I will keep reading them as long as he keeps writing them.I don't give a lot of books 5 stars but this one earned it from me.

Cute, cozy, quick read.
A good prequel to the story of Legends and Lattes. It's both a very different and also same Viv. Fern is a perfect little character, Maylee is wonderful, Satchel is great. The story felt a little meandering until the very end where it wrapped up pretty quick, but the epilogue made it worth it. I'll admit, not as good as the first book, but a worthwhile second.

OBSESSED
I loved this book and the first one Legends and lattes, I honestly can't say which one I liked better. They were fun, exciting yet cozy and warm. A very kind sort of high fantasy story. Easy read, yet captivating. I am not a dungeons and dragons player, so I had to look up some of the terminology, but I still couldn't put the books down. I'm desperately hoping for another tale by this author.

Ironies of life change one's perspectives
Viv, an orc mercenary, has been sidelined by a severe leg injury. At first she can only think about when she can return to work, but then she starts meeting an eclectic group of locals who change her reality. There are many excellent characters, interesting confrontations, and books to be read. Lots of fun and problem solving culminate in a fight with a very powerful necromancer.

ends great but slow beginning
Good story. Gets better as you go along but not as good as the first book. This one rated 4 stars where the first rated 5 but still def worth the read.

Cozy Delight
This book was a warm cup of tea and a fresh baked pastry on a cold dreary night. Cozy and enjoyable with enough action to keep the pages turning.

Viv has been hunting down Varine the necromancer with her Ravens crew when she unfortunately gets injured. She reluctantly ends up in the village of Murk to recuperate. Viv spends her days in a run-down bookshop with a foul-mouthed owner and her gryphet. Toss in an gnome with an attitude, satchel of bones and a summer fling. Her life is about to become anything but boring. It’s the story beyond the story that matters most. What I Liked:🦴 Travis always creates characters you want to befriend and have their own uniqueness. Fern is my favourite by far.🦴 The stories from the borrowed books ties perfectly into the novel with foreshadowing and self discovery.🦴 The world building is creatively designed.🦴 The ending is flawless and heartfelt. What Could Have Been Improved:🦴 It started out a bit slower than expected.

Zugleich spannend und entspannend
Ich hätte es nicht für möglich gehalten, aber es ist sogar noch besser als der erste Band.

absolutely fantastic
Beautifully described sense of place that made me want to linger and absorb the view. Characters are never one dimensional ,feelings expressed so well the emotion lingers like the echo of a bell. And books, and a book group,, I enjoyed lingering over this.
