Perfect solution to wet garage floor
I spent some time trying to decide whether or not this would work sufficiently well to cure the problem of rain dripping off my garage door and running into the (stupidly-downhill-running) rough concrete floor. In the end, I decided to risk it - a seemingly permanent fix, and relatively straightforward to lay. It arrived the day after ordering, and was cut generously with about 15inches longer than the order size. I'd cleaned and marked the fitting position (it was easiest with 2 people, one inside the closed door) and once the strip was cut to size with a sharp blade, applied the glue (easily enough in one tube for an average garage width), unfurled the strip onto the glue. There's time to move it around if necessary, using a straight-edge such as a wood, and once tamped to press it into the glue, it's done. Took about an hour, and in spite of all the rain since fitting, the garage is totally dry - even materials and tools well away from the floor, my log-burner wood, etc. you'd be amazed at the difference it makes - a really effective simple solution.

Very good product
The product is both a good idea and on the whole very successful. For most garages this will keep leaves and water ingress out of the garage. Sadly for mine it was a partial success as we have significant flooding problems and as we have now discovered one side of the door is lower than the other, and we still get some water in but nowhere as bad as before. There were no problems sticking it to the floor as others have said. If you have a serious flooding problem you may need a higher lip but for most people this will be a great product and is not difficult to drive over.

Holding back the rain.........
Cheaper here than elsewhere. So, it comes in a big box with the adhesive inside. Do yourself a favour and purchase an extra tube of the sticky stuff. If your garage floor is uneven you would be best trying to smooth it out as best you can. Ours is concrete so, other than scraping across a layer of concrete mix to try and get the effect, you're pretty much stuck.Make sure your measurements are correct, you don't want to cut this and then find out you've cut short etc. It needed to fit in snugly with the door that I have and I spent time measuring up in order to get it right. My floor was uneven and as a result, the rain water still seeps in in some places though no where near as much as it did before I put this down. It's ideal for the job, just follow the instructions and get your garage floor as clean as possible. I'd also consider getting a bag of 'post fix' and making up a fairly loose mix to spread across the area you're going to stick this to, ensuring that it's a nice flat and hopefully smooth surface. Use 2 tubes of adhesive to ensure you get as much of the excluder stuck to the floor.

Have I got a dry garage after 20 years? I think I might!
Being in a seafront facing location, during a storm there was a 99% probability that rain water was driven in by the wind between the garage door and existing 20mm floorseal. After 10 days and some fairly heavy rain and wind, since fitting the new floor seal, I've not had to dry up the garage once, OK, so we have not had the worst of storms but... it's looking good!Because the seal is a solid rubber(?) rather than a hollow/structured profile (used by other suppliers) you need a very sharp blade (and some sticking plasters at hand for the inevitable finger cuts), the material is very tough to cut and shape around the inner door rails . Cardboard templates make the job easier. The adhesive works perfectly if the instructions are followed and the floor thoroughly cleaned before attempting to stick down the seal. I bought an extra tube of the adhesive in case I needed it and although not used yet, I can see a couple of areas that need a top up around the door side rails. All in all a successful job, but reprogramming the automatic door closer was another story!

You tube has several videos showing how easy it is to fit
The Weather Defender came in a simple roll cut to size. You tube has several videos showing how easy it is to fit, and it was. Two things to be aware of though. 1. The yellow central strip is shaped as a triangle and the instructions do not state which way the sloping side or the upright side should face when installed. I phoned the product helpline number and was told the sloping edge goes towards the outside of the door and the upright edge is inside. 2. The glue comes in a tube like decorators filler or silicone and it needs an applicator. I used the nozzle as supplied with the smallest hole and ended up with quite a bit of glue left over. I could have cut the nozzle to produce a bigger hole and a more generous application. I don't know whether more glue would have been better or just that the tube is a convenient size for all lengths supplied. Anyway, my garage has been tested by the weather this month and it has remained sealed and dry. Good investment so far I think.

LOOKS GOOD, BUT STICKS POORLY
The product is strong & durable, but the supplied adhesive does not seem fit for purpose. The fixing instructions were strictly adhered too but after a couple of weeks water seeped through & the seal lifted. It has been re-affixed using a different adhesive sourced separately from another supplier & the problem has now been solved.

Heavy duty, solid and well made - just the job!
Just what I needed to keep the rain and leaves out of my garage! It arrived packaged well (rolled up in a sturdy box) and with a tube of sealant. It's a bit difficult to cut as the rubber is so thick, so make sure you have a good quality hacksaw with a fresh blade and CUT SLOWLY! Stanley knives are not really effective and certainly don't use a rotary cutting tool like a Dremel, as the rubber will melt! (as I found out!).So far the sealant has held well. It's best to lay it out on the floor flat for 24hrs+ prior to fitting, just to ensure any curvature is ironed out and it's flat ready for adhesion.Mine's kept the rain out after a couple of heavy downpours and I'm now ready for the autumn and a leaf-free garage!
