Brilliant for gas hobs. Well made.
Perfect heat distribution over a gas flame. I bought this to use on my gas hob when simmering over a low heat and it works perfectly. This means less hot spots so less chance of food burning and less stirring. I bought 2 sizes and have used each only once so far. No discolouration or warping so I'm hoping these will be a good investment. The handle is good for placement over an already hot burner or moving from one to another though I can see it's not suitable for a flat surface such as an induction hob.

Handle is the worst handle design I've ever used
Slow to heat up, gets to approx 95 celsius and takes even longer to creep towards 100 celsius. So slow that I gave up and decided to return after trying it once.Handle is the worst handle design I've ever used..can't keep the handle on when using it as it simply wouldn't sit flat on the hob. Also very hard to pick up the plate with oven-gloves on - have to slide it across the hob and then try and get oven-glove-hands under it.Pointless handle, stupid design,Damn it, Handle - you had one job to do!...ONE!!...JOB!!!I wish Amazon would remove this thing from sale.Instead, what I'm going to do is buy a portable hotplate for my non-induction-compatible stovetop milk steamer.

Flat for storage and use
Excellent diffuser, sits flat on our induction stove (unlike another brand we found locally) and stores away flat as well ie. there is no permanent handle attached to it.

It Works
I'm using this as an induction cooker adapter, nothing more.It does its job well, heating up (there's a bit of smell as you might expect with heating metals), but it's definitely not for proper cooking. (Heck, induction hobs are not for proper cooking.) Anyway, because of the poor design of the induction hob, this adapter doesn't get really hot enough. I heard no induction hobs do get hot enough though. I can't boil water with this and a (full) saucepan. It's not hot enough. The water does get hot enough to scald someone, so you could still make sauces, and as a bonus you don't have to worry about accidentally boiling your sauce if you didn't intend to.I'm glad that this thing doesn't warp when it's heated, which is quite a feat considering it's not just one piece of metal (but something like a sandwich of 3).The handle, as others have mentioned here... is... next to useless. I don't use it at least, since if you lay the disc flat on the hob, you can't insert the handle. I just let mine cool down and pick it up with my hand.

I think the handle is pretty
haven't used it, as worried about scratching my new hob, I think the handle is pretty useless

Not perhpas the optimal solution
I've been needing something to marry my new induction hob and my beloved Italian stove-top coffee maker. The problem is that although the moka is made of the right stuff (stainless steel), its bottom diameter is too small (less than 12 cm) to work with the magnetically induced rings of the induction hob.Being rather edgy due to lack of proper caffeine, I was looking at this as an ideal solution. The good news is that it works. I can put the moka on top of the adaptor plate and it will make coffee. The bad news is that it doesn't work so well. The plate is bigger than the moka, so it sticks underneath it, hence it tends to overheat and leaves a scar on the induction plate. To be fair the product information does warn about this. Still, problem not quite solved yet.

Excellent, useful product. To be used with caution.
Necessary for using a vacuum coffee maker on an induction stove. Easy to handle. Works as expected. Very important warnings against overheating. Keep temperature as low as possible (make experiments), just enough for the water to rise. That way the coffee gets better, too.

Heats up really fast!!
This heats up and makes your alluminium mocha pot work super fast! I also like the fact that as it’s stainless steel it has gone slightly less shiny with the heat already. Brilliant little device and saved me having to get new coffee pots
