Oh, the ditz of it all
Spoilers included, so be prepared.Haruhi's plan to help Miss Kanoya, the girl all the Host Club thinks is "Tamaki's ideal Haruhi" because of a physical resemblance and the fact that many of her likings seem to link up with Tamaki's fantasies, is proceeding rather well. But unknown to her or the rest of the club, Tamaki knows full well that he is in love with Haruhi, as he gently explains to the girl. The task, which includes completing a number of challenges to collect items to prepare a curry, accomplishes a number of objects all together: 1)Tamaki easily conquers each challenge because of how well he knows and deals with all the other members of the Host Club, 2) Tamaki chooses inappropriate combinations of spices and foods, eventually forcing Miss Kanoya to make her own preferences known, 3)Tamaki admits to himself and to Miss Kanoya how he feels about Haruhi and his friends in the club, and 4)Miss Kanoya admits why she has been so withdrawn and upset.Although Tamaki doesn't win the task (despite having several advantages), both he and Hikaru have a talk, and also challenge each other to find a birthday present for Haruhi. The Host Club is also devastated to realize that, after time standing still for so long in the storyline, both Hunny and Mori are due to graduate. Worse still, although the two will be at the Ouran University, Hunny is studying maths and Mori will be studying law, so the pairing will, for a time, be separated. While Tamaki begins to understand that merely knowing that he is in love doesn't actually guarantee that Haruhi will reciprocate his feelings (although there are two really cute scenes where Tamaki recalls all the stupid things he's said and done while trying to deny that his feelings were romantic, and another where the idiot "prince" runs through all the permutations of Haruhi's "married name" before deciding that she may have to keep her own family name in order to keep the best numerological and kanji based balance), it starts to become clear that there's some friction between Mori and Hunny. The story, for now, ends with Mori challenging Hunny to a duel.Kyoya also has figured out that the family lawyer, Kosaka, hasn't merely been conveniently on hand all those times before, and may be working for Tamaki's grandmother... the woman who always reminds Tamaki that he is the son of a "wh***". (I'm okay with spoilers, but bad language is something else!)There's still challenges ahead for the guys, and their favourite cross dresser.

Dissapointed.
I love the manga and im in the midst of buying the whole set but, I'm honestly quite dissatisfied with how the book has arrived. I got it 10 minutes ago and it came with multiple defaults.

Eeeee! Love it.
As expected, Hatori Bisco-sensei delivers the good stuff! I love the humor--so many running jokes that just snowball as you go along. Lots of fun! Host Club definitely makes it on my top manga/manwa list, right up there with Fruit's Basket. Genius. The only con of the series is the timeline of release: what agony to wait half a year to read the next installation... I have to go back and reread the previous three or four manga before advancing to the new release each time they come out so I can make sure I'm following all the nuances (and running gags). Five stars sensei! Thank you for creating such an awesome story. Yay!
