OK for the price
Arrived Quickly. I guessed at the price that i would have some work to do. I coated the frame in two coats of Creoseal before assembly. I also applied brown window frame sealant around the window edges (inner and outer). (The windows are flimsy and rattle. They are held in with very small pins) Assembly was very easy and the cold frame looks good. The cold frame is very lightweight and will require fixing down to a heavy base board or another form of anchorage , otherwise it will blow away in a light wind. It is so light you can lift it with one hand. It is OK for the price

Good value.
Just spent a happy hour putting together my purchase of this cold frame, very easy to do and instructions simple to understand, basic tools of an awl (to start of the few screw holes needed) and a couple of screwdrivers are all that are required and the sections are all easy to identify and lightweight. Have given the assembled frame a coat of timber protection and now I intend visiting my local diy store to get a piece of wood, cut to size, to fix a base to the frame which should add weight to the structure, and also in the hope that this will stop access to the slugs and snails who will then go elsewhere for their midnight feasts. Looking forward to filling the frame with pots of seedlings and cuttings in the coming weeks. Great buy and recommended

I'll need to see how long it lasts but so far it seems fine. The design has possibly changed since other people put in their feedback - it has the central divider support. I think the wood was pale unlike the illustration. It suggested in the instructions that you give it a further weather proofing and that took far longer to do that to construct it. Even with my poor skills it took 15-20mins to put together. After several months the hinging remains firm - I had a concern it would soon loosen and would require something prop it open. I did wonder as I was weather proofing it why that hadn't already been done - maybe most people don't do it and that results in resales?

Great Cold frame
We assembled the Cold Frame, instructions easy to assemble. Placed Cold Frame at bottom of my garden against wooden fence and planted some seeds and placed young plants inside. Next morning I went down to open the top And to my horror the Perspex top was bashed and buckled, a neighbours cat must have jumped from the top of the wooden fence and jumped onto Cold Frame, managed to put the Perspex back on together again, Marks are still visible were the cat landed. Since then moved the Cold Frame against the house wall, a lot safer. Have placed lettuce seeds, young plants and courgettes, they are all coming on a treat ready for planting outside.Yes I would recommend this, will have to get in touch with Gardman Limited to ask if they supply the top only.We had heavy rain and was windy last week so put a wooden weight on top as the coldframe is very light.Yes very pleased with this buy just a pity about the cat

Nice little thing and quite good value for money
Bought this a while ago but have only just erected it. Nice little thing and quite good value for money. I have found a design problem. The lid has a wooden slat at the front along the top and when it rains if the lid is closed the water builds up behind it as it has nowhere to go until you lift it up and then you're in danger of getting drenched. Beware. Think that slat will rot quite quickly if we get a lot of rain

good product repeat buy
This is the second time I have bought one of these to grow on cuttings and plants with some protection. Realistically the frame is not extremely solid but gives enough strength when assembled. The product is flat packed but took less than 15 minutes to assemble as it has predrilled holes and all of the right screws the fact I bought it for the second time says it all.

Poor quality and too fragile to last
Hugely disappointing. So flimsy with wafer thin polycarbonate, wood that really needs better application of preservative. During assembly the bolts screws didn’t line up. I really feel I’ve been conned.

Good value for money Cold Frame
The cold frame arrived on time, however, a pair of wing nuts were missing, but a quick call to the manufacturer resulted in them arriving next day. I've repainted the Cold Frame with a dark wood stain. It is now full of my bedding plug plants. Very clever idea by manufacturer to supply two brackets for fitting to the base so that it can be secured to the ground.
