2-3" 20lbs Rainforest Grade A Black Pebbles, 20 lb

Unfortunately I had to return my box of rocks as it seems they were damaged in shipping. I expect “irregularities” with rocks and know few rocks are perfect but many of mine arrived broken, leaving sharp edges and therefore couldn’t be used.The rocks themselves were quite nice! I loved the size which was a bit bigger than advertised and those that didn’t break in transit looked nice and smooth. The rocks I received wound up being 4” or more I would guess. A medium sized rock you could grasp nicely in your hand. They were the deep and consistent black color I was wanting but were covered in quite a bit of wax. For those looking to paint them or use them in fish tanks this could be an inconvenience but I found with scrubbing the residue was removed enough to paint the rock successfully.I’m going to check this same store to see if they have smaller rocks that might survive transport better

The packing was very cheap, no padding at all. The rocks inside were smashed and I threw away many knifelike shards of stone before my three year old could get hurt by them. The custom-printed box in which they came was such poor quality I actually pulled the tape off and tossed into my yard waste; it was disintegrating already. Not counting the stones I threw away because they had dangerous sharp edges, the rocks I received didn't cover much area. I needed three times as much for my landscaping job. So I tried another product which I love. These shiny black stones arrived very well-packed, a box inside of a box, as this seller should have done, and for the same price I got three times as much coverage. I highly recommend CFKJ 18 Pounds Black Pebbles Aquarium Gravel River Rock. They are smaller than these 2-3" ones but after they arrived smashed into smaller unusable shards I was not happy with them. The black pebbles saved my project and plus, they make such a delightful sound when one walks over them compared with this product which seemed dusty and just dirty and more dark gray than black.

I got about 18 rocks purchasing this size with the 20lb bag. I don’t really know how many I was expecting for a price but perhaps a bit more than that. But that’s my own fault for not really measuring/following their guide. I was still able to make a neat walkway pattern to my house with them! A couple were chipped and broken but I just used those pieces in my design. The rocks are definitely large and are many different shapes and sizes. I’m not super disappointed with this purchase.

These stones are far larger than 2-3”.....mine were all over 4”. That made fewer of them for the 20#. I have a small area of my garden for lavender and it is all rock for better drainage. There were enough of these to outline that area. I like them and they look substantial; however they were not at all what I was expecting in size.

2022: I bought these for two uses. One, to put in the bottom of my larger pots and planters for better water drainage. Two, to put in trays under pot/plants the like more humidity. I put the rocks in the tray then put the pot on top. I add water almost to the bottom of the pot. That increases humidity without the pots sitting in water.These work well for both uses.

Okay, first off, I am going to say that what I received IS rather different than the picture. These are beautiful, real, "-4" dark-gray STONES -- not dark black pebbles.That said, I love them. I used them as landscaping rocks and some I washed and put in my fish tank. They are beautiful. I love them, but the pictures and description are somewhat misleading.

Product was good but larger than I was thinking they were. And from what the coverage said it should be it was not. I needed more. Than what was said to need according to the coverage. I do like the rocks. But not exactly what I was expecting

Only a few of the rocks were broken, likely because they're rocks. And they bang around and probably a few split on fracture lines. They look nice. I ended up using them as a base and adding non-black river rock to pile on. Packaging was good, delivery was without incident.
