Cool Book
Great read on the Misfits etc etc. Lots of pictures , of course. I read the entire thing in a day but I'm a big fan . Surprised to hear that Eerie would have stayed in the band if Glenn just said something. After they split up ...I lost interest in Danzig for the most part. If you're a fan ... just go ahead and buy it. I've thought of giving a local fan a copy. I was shopping in my Misfits shirt and met a huge fan... he's got the tattoos and everything. They would be shocked to get a copy but fans of the band usually are not casual fans. 🙂 I know Cliff Burton wasn't casual about his love of the music. In fact , it's hard to think of a group more loved. The photography is fantastic. Cool that he was always taking pictures of people around the band... other bands too. He has a real good eye for setting up scenes. Probably my favorites are the ones of just a bass and jacket. What a scene to fall into to as a photographer. Other bands...they just aren't that cool. 🙂 I'm also a fan of Samhain and it was nice to see that. That cool scene with the camp fire ! I had totally forgotten that... besides....it was really little on a cassette tape. Not anymore...now we got a nice sized book to look at. Pretty cool buy for the collection. Definitely want to hide it or buy it as a fiendish gift, as it will probably get stolen. There really are no casual Misfits or Samhain fans. Which , this book is part of that legacy...a legacy of photography. * I was also a big Danzig fan too but I bought all the magazines of that time period which featured the band grimly representing 🙂

If you're a fan of Glenn Danzig you need this book.
As a fan of (mostly) everything Glenn Danzig, I can full heartedly recommend this book to all fans of any of his 3 iconic bands. Eerie Von put his heart into this book and gave us all a first hand look into an era of possibly the greatest era of heavy metal. This book is bigger than I expected even after reading countless reviews and was way better than I anticipated. The quality is top notch for what I thought was a seemingly obscure band/bands and doesn't hold back in terms of showing the reader what the band was all about. The stories that come along with the pictures make you feel the nostalgia that Eerie felt while writing this book. There's a certain effect in the pictures that when you shine a light on them make them look amazing , I don't now how to describe it, the quality is just amazing. As I said, any fan of any of these 3 bands MUST buy this book because it's just that damn good and very affordable. Don't miss out on this.As for Amazon, delivery was very swift and I even got a $10 coupon for downloading the app and ordering through it. My only complaint is that it came with a few scuffs on the outside.

The closest we have to a Misfits/Samhain/Danzig history book.
Since the first time I heard The Misfits in middle school, I've been obsessed with everything Glenn Danzig has done. I spent so many of my formative years reading articles, interviews, and timelines and looking for little relics that have peeked out of obscurity for a moment, only to be pounced on by fans. But in all of this research and love and lore, I'd never felt as connected to the musical legacy as I did when I got this book. It's amazing to see all of these great photos taken at some of the most iconic moments by a guy who was there through it all. Eerie Von is THE Danzig historian. This is his passion, his dream, this was his life, and I'm so happy that he and Dark Horse books decided to share it with us.The books is nicely sized and doesn't feel skimpy for the price. It's chock full of photographs and personal anecdotes about the bands and photos. It's very well designed, which is something I don't expect from such a niche product as this. It seems to bring new life to these great old photos.I'm still amazed and delighted that this book was published. I couldn't imagine any fiend's library being without it.

A walk through history
First I will address the superficial side: The book itself looks amazing! It is well put together for a hardcover and the gloss appearance of the picture of Eerie looks really good and the quality and artistic approach to the book is 5 star! The contents: when I ordered the book I really thought I was going to get pictures without much backstory which I was fine with - as a Misfits/Samhain/Danzig fan for over 20 years now. I was really surprised to see the photos in this book as Eerie too some great intimate photos of the band. Eerie gives some great perspective on the years leading up to the break up of the original Danzig line up which was nice to hear sine we really only hear Glenn's side. Eerie keep everything professional and never picks on Danzig even though he has taken shots at Eerie in the past. It was a great trip to see some of the early photos from when Doyle joined the Misfits and even from before. I am amazed at some of the little things Eerie kept over the years which are shown in this book. Overall I highly recommend this book to Fiends everywhere. It will leave you wanting a classic Danzig era reunion for sure. Do yourself a favor and pick this book up before you can't find it. This book is MEANT to be bought as a hardcover. Great job Eerie and thanks for the walk down memory lane!

Perfect for the Misfits/Samhain/Danzig fan
Great old pictures and stories from all the old days of The Misfits, Samhain and Danzig. I’ve seen a few of these pics before but it’s a great collection and really cool to get the stories that went along with each set. Eerie Von was there from the beginning of the journey and was the go-to photographer for a bunch of Misfits’ performances and promos. It’s not a thick book but it’s way taller than I expected. Nice, glossy hardcover and packed full of photos. If you’re a fan of any of these bands, this book is well worth having on your shelf or coffee table.
