Spicy rom-com
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🎄insta connection❄️ friends to lovers🎄 soul mates❄️ forced proximity🎄 one bed❄️ blackmail🎄 miscommunication❄️ rom-comI love Tessa Bailey, I have read a few books by her and when I saw she had a Christmas novel I knew I needed to get my hands on it. Wreck the Halls had a lot going on in it. Not only was it a love story, a friends to lovers trope with a A Parent Trap twist, featuring two rock legend parents (Octavia and Trina), who are arch-nemeses. This holiday romance will have you laughing with the banter, quick wit and heartwarming moments. The main characters were absolutely adorable. They loved each other from afar for 14 years after meeting for the first time when they were 16. They may have never contacted each other in those 14 years after, but they thought about each other. They were the epitome of cuteness in the way they describe their feelings for each other. Beat, who is Octavia’s son, is a cinnamon roll MC who always wants to protect Melody (Trina’s daughter), throughout their whole “Wreck the Halls” escapade. You can’t help but fall in love with Beat and Melody with their cute banter back and forth and their quick wit.Melody is a quirky, introverted, rare book restoration expert. She is quick-witted and kind and only wants to find her place in this world, after living under the spotlight of her mother Trina. After dealing with public humiliation from the paparazzi she was self conscious, never feeling like she lived up to her rockstar mom.Beat is handsome, confident, and knows how to take charge of the spotlight. While he was a golden boy and had everything handed to him, he has a heart of gold. Beat hated that he was so privileged and never let anyone really know him, he kept them close but far at the same time. He didn’t want them to really SEE him. After starting their live stream for “Wreck the Halls” and spending so much time together Beat and Mel started to break each other's walls down. Mel got the confidence she needed, she felt beautiful, loved, and able to step out of her comfort zone. Beat learned that he can let people in, share himself with everyone. They just needed their soulmate to help them overcome obstacles in their way.I also really loved Trina and Octavia’s banter back and forth with each other. The things they would say to and about each other were absolutely witty and hilarious.

Charming holiday story
Melody Gallard and Beat Dawkins are the children of music royalty. They're approached to try and get their mothers (who can't stand each other) back together for a live show on Christmas Eve. Each of them has their own reasons for agreeing to participate, but it takes them a while to come clean with each other about what those are. There are certainly some awkward moments as the two of them are live-streamed almost non-stop until Christmas. All this footage also causes millions of viewers to fall in love with them as a couple, which I found super adorable.I loved that both Melody and Beat were able to be themselves around each other in a way they couldn't be with anyone else. They grew up in a unique environment that not many (if any) other people could fully understand. While there were some difficult family issues dealt with in the book it was overall incredibly sweet and swoonworthy. When I say sweet I don't mean there's nothing more than hand-holding in the book...that's not the Tessa Bailey way, I just mean that the characters were so thoughtful and caring towards each other. 😉While Christmas Eve is the deadline for the concert the book isn't overly Christmassy, so it's still a great option if you're looking for another cold-weather romance.

Wreck the Halls by Tessa Bailey 3.5 /5 ⭐️
Wreck the Hallsby Tessa Bailey3.5 /5 ⭐️Melody Gallard has tried to stay out of the public eye since her teenage years. Growing up with an eccentric rockstar mother, she prefers a quiet and private lifestyle. But when a producer offers her a large sum of money to reunite the Steel Birds, her mother’s old band, Melody considers putting herself out there. If she does the reality TV show, she will get to see Beat again!Beat Dawkins, the son of the other band member, stole her heart years ago. With his looks and charm, Beat has always been the fan favorite. He is completely opposite of Melody. These two could have been friends years ago if it wasn’t for the band’s infamous breakup. Beat is excited for the reunion plus he needs the money so he can handle a pesky problem once and for all.As these two embark on reuniting their mothers, they have to face an around-the-clock film crew, brawling Santas, and social media haters. With Beat at her side, Melody starts to come out of her shell. They begin to share an intense attraction and lust for one another. Can they keep their clothes on long enough to reunite their mothers before Christmas Eve?Wreck the Halls is a modern holiday romance with reality TV and social media influence. I didn’t love the book, but I also couldn’t stop reading. Unfortunately, the instant love and insatiable desire of the main characters were hard to buy into for me. Also, I had hoped for more of a Christmas atmosphere. It was only evident in the setting. The band reunion plot was cute and I enjoyed the mother characters. Could they go on tour again and we could get a sequel focused on them?Read this book if you like:🎶Musical celebrities🧲Opposite Attract🌶️Spice💝HEA

Good book, but predictable
Really enjoying this book! Great spice. Only down fall like most of these types of books is they are predictable.

sweet but not overly mushy
This one had a few almost predictable yet unexpected turns. The love story was sweet. The endings even better. It was fun to read with love, adventure and a little suspense.

Her best work yet!!
Tessa really got me with this one - I felt this story so deeply, she is the best kind of author, with her words making you feel every emotion that the characters are experiencing! I really hope there's more to this story, but even if there isn't, I'm so glad I got to read this one!

With bouts of reality.
This is very much a book for the modern age where the lines between real life and the virtual life of social media becomes blurred. It reads as though you are watching the events unfold through the lens of a small screen on a mobile/cell phone or other handheld portable device. There are a number of sex scenes in this book. They do not particularly add to the story arc, but do illustrate the growing attraction between the two main characters. It's as though you have been let into the secret private moments when the microphones and cameras are off.Could there be a sequel?I think it deserves one.

5 stars
Excellent. Emotional, dramatic, Page turning, thrilling. Can't wait to read next. Beat n Melody are children of two Pop stars, who seperated. How they try to bring them together, n in the process how they fall in love.

“There’s no Beat without a Melody.”
Gosh I absolutely loved this story. The children of two powerhouse rockstars who haven't spoken to one another in 30 years - Beat & Melody (and yes the names might be corny but they fit so well!) come together to try and reunite their mother's band. What follows is lots of laughs, lots of lust, lots of love and a beautiful story. If only it had an epilogue it would've been a perfect holiday read for me - I needed to see Melody & Beat living their hard-fought HEA.
