I am a skilled sewist who is looking to make a kilt for the first time. This book was basically useless to me. Not only are there no helpful diagrams, only blurry pictures, but the text is just a stream-of-conciousness rambling narrative. It doesn't seem like the book has ever been read over since being written, eg by an editor or even the author, as the list of materials includes the definition of iron ("Iron a metal you can make things out of) rather than listing you know...an iron (the implement). Maybe this was AI generated? Not worth my time or money to try to decipher when other, more detailed books exist.

I think I was expecting a bit more in actual traditional kilt making. If you are looking to make a utility kilt, then it will serve you well. Again, my expectations were likely more than it should have been. I'm seeking to make a fine dress kilt and will keep searching.

This book is NOT anything about sewing a Scottish Kilt! It might help if you want a construct a utility kilt. Be aware that there is another book by a “different” author with a similar title but uses the same images! Someone is plagiarizing. Several videos are much better than this!
