Back Roads France: Eyewitness Travel 2016 (DK Eyewitness Travel Guide)

Have referred to the book extensively on a 90 day motorhome holiday across France. The tours are well balanced and although we bought other touring "guides" this is the one which we used most.

We have now completed 2 trips using this book and I am absolutely delighted with it. Our first trip was in Burgundy and, if anything, the book under plays the beautiful villages that it directs you to - breathtaking! Each place was prettier than the last. You could drive for 20 mins without seeing another car. The pace is relaxing and you have plenty of time to spend in each place. However, I was hesitant to place a review at this point, just in case we got 'lucky' but having just come back from another road trip to Vercors, I can tell you that it was just as amazing as the first trip. Where we did get 'lucky', was to buy this book. And we are currently planning trip number 3!!

Bought this for a friend and his wife for Xmas he loves it! We have a house in France so I’m guessing he’s got everything planned out with the help of this book for when they come to visit. I actually wanted a Michelin Map of Beau Villages but this was the next best thing. He loves the back streets and getting lost, me I have my foot on the invisible break! Lol.

Its not really true backroads.Its a nice read, its good if you are not familiar with France.If you are, you will be better placed then this book.Bought the Spanish one as well, neither offered up anything new for us.Google is your friend for discovering true hidden gems

We are planning a road trip through France later in the year, this book has been very helpful. Will definitely be using it on our travels. Loads of suggestions of where to visit and what not to miss.

Really useful, nice guide.... but 'tiny' print; so bit difficult for those with less than youthful vision!
