CarbonFil is a light-weight and incredibly stiff carbon fibre reinforced filament. Our CarbonFil filament is based upon a unique blend of our HDglass compound reinforced with 20% ultra-light and relatively long stringer carbon fibres, which has resulted in an exceptionally stiff carbon fibre 3D printer filament.

Good on all-metal hotends
TLDR: it gud, but need hot.I initially had trouble printing this filament on stock Ender 3 hardware which safely maxes out at 240c ish causing stepper motor slips/failing to extrude so if your printer isn't capable of reaching those slightly higher temperatures, I'd give this a miss. After swapping out to an all-metal hotend and raising the temperature to 260c it prints much better. Seems to stick to the heatbed without much effort much like regular PLA. The difficulty of printing this material I think is likely to do with the high amount of carbon fibre content which reduces the fluidity of the melted filament. I've tried a few brands of carbon fibre impregnated PLAs, others of which required a lower temperature to print. However, these only seemed to be slightly more rigid compared to this carbonfil which is comparably as hard as Dwayne the Rock Johnson. After a bit of dialing in, you end up with what appear to be rather strong, rigid components (I say appear as I've not tested it to destruction yet) that have a nice, rough, matte finish with a kind of particulate sparkle owing the the carbon fibre. All in all a filament for more temperature capable hardware, with a considerable price tag, but probably mechanically the strongest PLA I've found so far. Dwayne approves.

More rigid but much weaker than standard PETG
CF PETG looks the part but sadly it ends there. layer adhesion is the big draw back. the fibres don't cross over between layers so the printed part is weaker between layers, given PETG generally bonds so well I thought this, rather than CF PLA or CF ABS might be the answer to strong, good looking parts. Sadly its not.Given the price and the additional problems with printing; filament breaks very easily during printing, plus the safety concerns around loose Carbon fibres, especially if sanding or finishing parts ( Wear a full respirator and clean up afterwards!) I don't think this or the other Carbon Fibre filaments are worth the effort unless the price drops considerably and its used for looks and perhaps rigid but fragile parts. After test printing at 230, 245 and 250, I settled on 238 hot end and 75 bed. 0.25 layers with 0.6 nozzle. I tried to see if I could produce stronger parts without success. Alas Standard PETG is much stronger even if a little more flexible.

Great carbon fiber filament for the price
This is a great filament. Really pleasantly surprised with the quality. Very stiff/strong material and makes clean prints, sticks to a glass bed EXTREMELY well. Sanding the prints makes them look like they were injection molded. The deep, dull black color is very cool.

Supremely stiff
Supremely stiff. I've only printed a couple of things so far, very simple but gonna be printing some structural components soon for an electric go kart. I need to do some tinkering with print temperature to fine tune the surface finish which is a bit lumpy so far, but still early days.

Prints very easily without a heated bed and has a nice carbon ...
Prints very easily without a heated bed and has a nice carbon feel to it. Not sure I would say carbon fiber, but a nice carbon feel and doesn't turn your hands black. Good strength with no stringing.

More like a returned product than new
The package I got looked as if it was a return, that had been put in a plastic bag, half the filament was hanging off the spool, and took over an hour to untangle and wind back onto the spoo, I bought from the same seller a week ago and it came vacuum sealed and in the box

Product FAR below expectation
I expected the filament to be in an unsealed package with possibly a small amount missing, I was not expecting to receive a 1kg roll of filament to be between 30 and 50% used and recieve z half empty spool!

Five Stars
Solid as hell but after one spool youl need new head nozzle
