You receive everything you need (except two C batteries) to either paint or create a pottery item! It's got a different plate for the pottery which simply slots into place. It's good fun and a perfect activity to do with your child! The box it arrives in is much bigger than what you actually get. Less packaging would be better.

The media could not be loaded. This product is a complete waste of money. The wheel speed is so slow it’s difficult to actually make anything and the splatter art is also not great because of the wheel speed! Wouldn’t waste your money!

This 2 in 1 creative machine is a potters wheel and a splash art studio.I ordered this for an 8 year old who is a budding artist and he loves it.He is going to make a sculpture or two from the clay, and maybe try throwing a pot.There’s plenty of clay - around 2 lbs.The wheel works well, the speed is adjustable and there are two revolving trays depending on whether you are making pottery or artwork.Everything is included to help you sculpt and paint custom art pieces from the paper and paint to the sculpting tools there’s a lot of different mediums to try and explore.I would definitely recommend it. It’s so nice to see a great toy like this one that is ‘hands on’ and doesn’t rely on an app, just the imagination.The batteries are not included.In my opinion this is great value for money, seems well made and robust and has no rough or sharp edges.I hope you find my review helpful.

This arrived in a humungous box and not surprising considering the sheer amount of stuff you get inside. When I got this, it was really very expensive but at the time of writing it has since dropped by about £15, so well worth getting it now if you're interested in it.The splash art studio is loads of fun and even I could manage to make something vaguely artistic. Regarding the pottery aspect, however, I think an untrained potato could do a better job than me. It's not that it is difficult to use the wheel, I just have a particular lack of skills and used them all to their maximum inefficiency.You get some clay to start you off and it's fairly inexpensive to get more anyway, so once you've finished making your vase, pot or (in my case) lump of unidentifiable smush, you can order more clay from your favourite shop and crack on making more masterpieces.This set is great fun but you WILL get messy, so remember to protect everything and anything that matters to you before you reenact Ghost (not with the kids, though. C'mon, that's weird).

Returning this item has it won’t switch on and work.Followed the instructions and put the correct batteries in and it didn’t turn on.If the item worked it would have been a good product for the kids to have.It comes with all the right accessories to make pottery projects and splatter art.

This set should keep kids busy for a while. It has all you need to make two small pots, including paint and cardboard squares for making the splash paint art.The spinning wheel is geared so that it spins faster when painting than when you’re doing the pottery. The speed is also adjustable via the dial on the top. The wheel is strong enough to turn even with weight on it.It’s easy to pack up and box away.The two sculpting tools, which allow you to score the paint and clay, are dispensable – an old teaspoon would do just as well.Some instructions are included, but it should have included a QR guide to a help video for younger kids.The pottery wheel should have rubber feet, as it spins too freely on a shiny surface, making use awkward.There is only a small amount of paint and clay, and they aren’t great quality; if you want to use the wheel more, you’ll need to buy some.Probably about twice the price it’s worth.

This pottery wheel is quite a nice little set. It arrives in a large box, that is branded, brightly coloured and quite eye-catching, especially for a child. There is a lot included; the unit, two different trays, a decent amount of clay, sculpting tools, a paintbrush, and paint, but sadly no batteries. The unit itself is purple and lime-green, and the quality is good; it feels reasonably robust and there’s no sharp edges, or areas to catch your fingers. The speed of the wheel is controlled by a twistable knob, which is also the on/off switch. It is simple to operate, and the clean up is quick too. The quality of the tools, brush and paints are more than adequate for this type of set.As well as being a pottery wheel, this is a splash art set, where you change the tray, add some paper, drip paint onto it and allow the centrifugal force to fling the paint around. This feels like an unusual combination to me. I understand the manufacturer trying to extend the usability of the product, but I would be surprised if a child who enjoyed the precision of pottery, also wanted the unpredictability of splash art. I suppose that there’s an element of if they don’t like one, they could well like the other, and it’s always good to see something that is hands-on and not a screen, but they are very different creative processes.At the time of writing this review, the cost is £46.97, and that does feel slightly on the expensive side to me, but for a child that is interested and will get use of it, it will be good value.
