We had a MESA safe and the battery died. We moved homes and completely spaced out where the key was. The company folks said we should send a copy of receipt. We purchased it 15 years ago so that’s not there. Next option was to send a notarized letter… that sounded weird. This worked like charm. Now the question is why buy these locked anymore !!

Bought for Locksport, and to study, has some sharp edges, but build quality is good, only complaint was the incredibly long shipping time, I believe mine took about 8-9 weeks to arrive, the company did offer to refund me, so I assume that this wait time isn’t the norm, just bad luck on my part, but lock itself is definitely worth the price.

I didn't know these types of locks and keys are not easily found. I like the four way key as it is more secure. Te price was great, easy install and I'm a happy consumer.

I bought this for my locksport hobby and made a little wooden thingy to mount it in to practice picking it easier. When the face of the lock is mounted correctly, the mounting plate on the back it ridiculously crooked. If it were planning to use it in an actual door, there'd be no way to install it with the face straight.The lock itself is fine. It's your typical cheap lock but it works as it should, especially after lubricating it since it arrived un-oiled. All the keys fit and turn it as they should.So if you're wanting this for its intended use, I say pass even though the price is inexpensive.If you're wanting a cruciform lock to practice picking, then have at it.
