Absolutely perfect for what I needed. Super sturdy, Large enough to be secure but not too bulky. retained key locks. Not sprung and the fact that you actively have to lock the lock rather than just snapping it shut mean you can never lock yourself out. Also really well priced. Can be a bit fiddly to get the key in the correct orientation as the key hole is round and the key is vaguely rectangular.

A good, strong padlock. Easy to use, though does not lock shut without using the key. Supplier was very expeditious and efficient in fulfilling my order.

🔒 I needed this padlock because the existing one that I have, from a far cheaper brand, only lasted one season, securing my caravan storage box, one of the large Keter 1200-litre ones that lives out in all weathers. The old shackle started to rust and became unusable. I therefore needed to spend more money to actually save money in the long run by not buying cheap, throw-away locks and going for something a little more expensive but with useful features for an outdoor padlock that looks like it is built to last. In the pack you get three keys, which is good as these are not the easiest to get replaced.🔓 One of the most useful things that this lock has is a good drain hole below the shackle in the body of the lock. My old padlock accumulated grime and debris in this place, and having a hole in this position means that any water or dirt can just drain away. The shackle is further protected against the weather by two plastic cones. I was worried that these would prevent the shackle from fitting over the closure on my storage box, but I needn’t have worried; the shackle plus plastic cones fitted through the hole nicely.🔑 On the negative side, I appreciate that the padlock packaging is designed for a retail environment where it needs to be visible, but I really dislike the plastic packaging where the item needs to be cut out with a pair of shears. It really could have been sealed in less vigorously or delivered in a cardboard box in line with the move away from unnecessary use of plastic that is wasteful.🔐 How secure is it? I think that the CEN rating of 2 is about right. The keyway is quite wide, giving lots of access, and the key can be completely withdrawn with the lock open. Although the shackle is quite strong, it is very long, and there’s a lot of metal exposed here that can either be ground through or levered. On the plus side, the lock core is not the kind to be bumped or raked as it is a disc detainer design with a sidebar, although the key warding is necessarily low for the type of key. Someone with nefarious intent would either need specialist tools to pick the lock or just go for brute force. For my application, it is over the top for security, as a plastic garden store is not the most secure, but I got this for its combination of security and corrosion resistance, which I think makes it a good buy. ✔️

Great long handled padlock bought for a metal garden gate.It’s easy to open and close and comes with 3 keys.I’ve made the mistake of buying cheaper locks that are almost impossible to open. I bought this one because it has a good brand name YALE. It was worth the price. Lesson learnt.

Great little lock for gym / swim locker. Disc retainer code, so not easily picked or decoded.

I bought a pair or the 30mm padlocks to secure an outdoor storage unit. Despite being under a tamper-proof cover on the unit, after two weeks they were showing signs of rust, so are definitely not weather proof. Additionally, like an earlier reviewer (I wish I'd taken notice!) one of the padlocks won't open now, after the 2 weeks and first attempt to unlock! Given that the storage unit has a metal tamper proof cover I have no idea yet how I'm going to get it off. Either Yale's quality has plummeted, or these are fake. Will be applying for a refund that I may have to put towards a locksmith!

This is a cheap and cheerful padlock! It does the job and locks things but I’m not sure how long it will last or how secure it actually is. The key is super fiddly to get in (almost feels like a toy lock) and I already have some surface rust appearing. On the plus side ,as mentioned, it was cheap so there’s the trade off.
