That's when I was reminded how good this book is
My son is autistic. I decided to teach him violin but have been doing my own thing. He has a talent contest coming up but is not talented enough to play unaccompanied so I pulled out this book I'd bought for an aborted tutoring arrangement and found a song for him to chug along with. That's when I was reminded how good this book is, especially for boys and how good it is to have some accessible tunes with backing tracks to remind your student - whoever they are about the purpose and fun behind learning an instrument

Not a bad choice, but better exist
Full of great exercises for a young beginner violinist. Does have a slight issue in that there are some elements, such as hand position on the bow, which simply say ask your teacher, when a reminder for an absolute beginner between lessons is very helpful.

Enjoying this book
Love this book so far. Like how the open strings tunes are 'real and well known tunes'. Refreshing material to use.

Violin Tuition Book
My daughter's tutor advised me to buy this and another book to help with lessons. While the lessons are extortionate, this book wasn't. Yet to find out how beneficial it is, but from the way it's set out and written I assume she'll get on fine with it. NB. Much, much cheaper than buying it from her tutor, or the tutor's "allocated shops"
