Intoxicating aroma for a morning coffee - ideal for a bean to cup machine.
Opening the bag you're greeted with a wonderful coffee aroma and each time you hit the button on a bean to cup machine you experience the same again. The coffee is stronger than the Amazon own brand I last purchased and is ideal for an expresso shot to make a latte. The flavour profile is a medium strong, with no discernable sourness, which I personally don't like. Smooth and bitter, but not too dark, with no burnt notes. I fancy one right now...

A Fantastic Italian Roast!
I've been grinding coffee beans for years and have a favourite I've stuck to for the last several years. Unfortunately I recently couldn't get my regular so had to choose a stand-in, so I thought I'd give Taylors of Harrogate Rich Italian Roast a try. I almost always go for an Italian roast.Since that day these beans have been my go-to coffee. It's a mid-strength roast with great flavour, not too strong and not too weak, needing minimal milk or cream if you use it.I would suggest you let these beans breathe for twenty to thirty minutes when first opened before using or sealing them into your regular airtight container. It simply helps get rid of the ashen smell beans can develop when in the bag over an extended time which can taint the flavour on early use. It's also well worth following the guidelines on Taylors' website as to what weight to use and soaking duration. It does make a difference and you might be surprised just how few beans you need per cup.Following Taylor's guide, I brew a single mug of coffee like this...15 grams of beans ground to a breadcrumb consistency.Boil water to 95 degrees (A kettle with varying temperature range is perfect for this)Coat the ground beans in the cafetière with around 1.5 cm of water from the boiled kettle. Put the lid on and leave for 1 minute. After the initial 1 minute add more water to reach the level equivalent to your mug. (250 to 300 ml) and leave to brew for 4 more minutes. While your coffee is soaking fill your mug with excess boiling water from the kettle. By the time your coffee is brewed your mug will be very hot and will keep your coffee at good drinking temperature for far longer.I personally like milk in my coffee so when the last four minutes is up I empty out the water from the mug and add around 0.5 cm of milk into the bottom of the mug. Pour in your brewed coffee, no need to use a spoon to stir as pouring in the coffee does this for you. This is the best method I've found to really get the flavour out of these beans if you'd like to give it a try. Enjoy.
