Great book
Really enjoyed this book. Very well written. Helpful for a course taken in Biblical counseling. Recommend for those wanting to counsel others in an appropriate Biblical way.

Great survey of nouthetic counseling
This book is a great review of Biblical counseling. It covers the basics very well, including some resources as to where further information can be found. The information is current (since it is Biblically based), but the resource list is somewhat dated because there has been much written in this field in the past few years. This is a great resource for basic training. It is a must for all Christian workers, both vocational and volunteer. I would honestly say that it should be in every Christian's library. The ideas in this book are developed deeper in The Christian Counselor's Manuel, Competent to Counsel, and (Ready to Restore:)A Theology of Christian Counseling.

A good summary of how best to walk along side those seeking Biblical counseling.
Best summary I have seen on when a counseled is ready to end Counseling sessions.

Family member appreciates this
This was a gift to a family member who was dealing with another who was experiencing addiction problems. The recipient said she greatly appreciated the counseling from a Christian perspective.I have read other books b Jay Adams and highly recommend this book.

Biblical counseling not psychiatric mumbo jumbo.
Jay Adams again shows that the only way to counsel is in God's word, and every believer is called to be involved in that ministry. One can only be involved by studying and applying God's word.

Ready To Restore
The book was very informative and I gained a lot of information that will help me in Ministry. The used book I purchased was in better condition than stated in the advertisment. This book should be required reading for anyone going into full time Ministry.

Quality of second hand book is excellent for what I paid.
Good book ( as in the quality of the book itself) the contents was disappointing. It was bought because it was mentioned in another Christian book, but not my kind of read at all. Too heavy, repetitive and could have been a quarter of the size to get to the same conclusion.
