This item is easy to use and stores in a compact form. The rails that give structural integrity to the opened shade have soft padded ends so that it fits many variations in windshield size. The opening for the mirror with a Velcro strap works perfectly to keep the shade from sagging. (That was a problem with my last shade). Very little light gets around the shade. The day after I received the shade,we had a hot sunny day. The car was cooler than in the past with the previous shade and it is so nice that it is easy to install and remove. I liked it enough to buy a second one for one of my other cars.

This windshield shade is a great concept. It does not perfectly fit in a VW Atlas, but does any shade fit perfectly in any windshield? No. This is easy to spread out across the dash because of the umbrella slider, and easy to take down. I use the sun visors to hold it in place. I don't take the time required to fold it back up again. That is a little complicated. It keeps the dash, steering wheel, and front seats from getting scorching hot. It is a cool concept.

Just wish it had a way for the ends to be stuck when open

Even after measuring my windshield to make sure it would fit, it is about 2" to small side to side and an inch to small top to bottom. Sadly I got busy and waited to long to return.

I originally purchased this for a smaller car. It fit well except that the handle broke off with first use. Purchased a larger SUV and it was too small. It was easy install and blocked the sun glaring into the windshield.

It fits my windshield much better than the last one I tried. And it really helps keep the sun from drying out my dash. Central TX summers get pretty brutal.

Definitely doesn’t work on a Kia Sorento.The handle hangs so low over the dashboard, the weight of the handle pulls the whole unit away from the windshield. As I was trying to set it up, the handle kept changing the radio stations.The slot for the mirror has so much give—and no support—so it hangs away from the windshield. The strap that comes with it is useless: there’s no Velcro on the actual cover, so I had to wrap it around my rear view mirror.I gave it to my husband, who drives a VW… he tried it and promptly tossed it in the trash.I’m back to using my very simple folding unit i bought at a drugstore for a few bucks.
