Excellent replacement for plastic film bags - strong, washable.
I love these bags! Plastic film bags are a serious environmental problem and the amount of times they can be reused is limited. They blow around all over the place, pollute the oceans and are hazardous to wildlife. So when I saw some mesh bags at a local grocery store I bought some. They were so handy that I wanted more and also wanted to get some for family and friends but the store didn't restock them. I was happy to find these on Amazon and these are even better than the ones I bought at the store because they have a toggle closure. Unlike plastic bags, these are easy to wash and they dry quickly and I donât have a lot of plastic bags drying out in the kitchen. I don't forget to bring them to the store because they are so light and fold up so small that its easy to keep 4 or 5 of them in my purse. They are strong enough to substitute for grocery bags in a pinch.I decided to use these new ones instead of Christmas wrapping paper - another dreadful pollutant and dreadful use of trees. The bag can be lined with plain red, white, or green tissues which is recyclable.Another unexpected benefit was that the store was out of unsalted bulk peanuts. I bought bulk peanuts that were salted and when I got homeshook the mesh bag of nuts over the sink and got rid of most of the salt.I keep finding new uses for these bags such as packing camping supplies, suitcases, emergency kit, etc.

Great Eco-Friendly Choice!
I bought these bags because I was trying to cut down on my plastic use, and I realized that if I was bringing reusable grocery bags to the store, why couldn't I bring reusable produce bags too? Since then, I use these non-stop. They're great at the grocery store, where there is always a bag at hand, so you don't have to go searching for a dispenser. They're great in the crisper drawer, where they let the produce breathe and help keep food fresher longer by preventing sogginess and mold. The only thing I would recommend is that if you have something leafy, like spinach or fresh herbs, that you wrap them in a damp paper towel, since the breathability of this bag means the leaves can end up pretty dry and crunchy quickly if you don't. If the bags do get dirty, I just throw them in with a load of towels, and they're good as new. So far they've held up for about six months very well, and we actually just bought a second set so we would never be without them at the store. I also bought a set for each of my parents! I would highly recommend these not only to someone looking to be more Earth-friendly, but also to someone just looking for a convenient, high-quality product.

Handy, sturdy, easy to scan at checkout, and ecologically wonderful!
I received the bags two weeks ago. They smelled funny, so I put them in the wash on delicate with a little bit of detergent and they came out wonderfully. They were practically dry, so I just hung them on some cabinet knobs and they dried pretty quickly. I used them at the grocery store the next day. We usually buy a bunch of fruits and vegetables every week. The bags, 15x12, held 12 apples very easily. Before, we used the plastic bags at the store and had to use two to get all the apples. Also got oranges, bananas, onions, squash, lettuce, etc. The cashier had no problem checking out the vegetables without opening the bags. They scan really easily. The only problem was that the lettuce dried out by the end of the week, but that was because it didn't eat it fast enough. We usually go through two heads of lettuce a week. I've already bought a second set of bags so that we don't have to use any plastic bags at all. That's 10 plastic bags by 52 weeks that we don't have to recycle.

I really like these bags
Overall, I really like these bags. I like the color, the drawstrings, and the size. The only problem is that with certain produce you shouldnt keep them in the bags in your crisper. I bought groceries on Saturday morning and by Sunday at noon I noticed that my bell peppers werent as crisp, which really isnt a big deal, but my shiitake mushrooms were a bit dried out. Now that I know this though, I will just go shopping the same day as my cooking and I think these will be a great alternative to plastic. The other thing is that I bought these to help save on plastic bags and yet these came in a plastic bag. The way I see it though is that one plastic bag will be saving me many more in the future. No more plastic produce bags for this shopper!
