Check before you buy
Husqvarna welded the pinion gear to steering shaft on earlier models. Look at bottom of pinion gear. If solid you must buy new shaft instead of this. If you see bolt head, buy this. Fyi old shaft will slide out from bottom with a jack lifting the front of tractor.

Need a new shaft.
The shaft isn't drilled and tapped you have to get a new shaft.

Direct replacement for what I had. Except the one I had didn't have teeth. That's why I replaced it. I was a good match fit and works very well. Made the tractor like new again

The teeth on this sheered off within a few minutes of mowing, and then it stopped working. I would not recommend this as a replacement product.
