Favorite pregnancy book
I feel like this book is a must-have for first-time mamas, and anyone who wants a refresher on pregnancy. It has excellent information and is laid out in a fun and interesting way so it doesn't feel like you're reading a textbook.

Great book!
As an expecting FTM this book is great! It's easy to read without getting too overwhelmed..it has nice sections month to month on what to expect, with quick little topic reads. It gives you some basics to expect, without being too heavy on "medical" terminology or being too overwhelming. Was nice to sit down for a few minutes at a time and read. It also had some nice visuals like checklists for registries and hospital bags!

A light-hearted pregnancy book
Bought this book when I first found out I was pregnant and have been very happy with it. While it's not the most informative nor detailed book, the tone was light and humorous and the anecdotes cheered me up immensely. I also was glad to see that some topics had a "both sides of the argument" section which quoted two different sources.I especially loved the sections comparing the baby size to a fruit, which I found helpful to imagine how big it is at any given time. The Q and A sections also had a nicely human tone to them. Nothing too specific, but good general information to them. Though the question about a "third nipple" was alarming. There was only one paragraph to answer it, which didn't seem like nearly enough. What do you mean, third nipples are common enough?? I'd google it, but I'm not sure I want to know...All in all, I'd recommend this as a good "second" pregnancy book, to go with another, more detailed one. Very happy with my purchase.

Childish Writing and Dramatic Delivery (pun intended)
I wasn't a fan of this book. In fact, it made me angry. The writing is childish and dramatic. The summary page found before each pregnancy month is frightening. This is because the excerpts are filled with nothing but negative side effects and worst case scenarios. I've spoken to plenty of women who have experienced pregnancy, and they were confused by most of the things the author mentioned in these summary pages. I understand everyone will have their own pregnancy journey, and some women will be more fortunate than others, but come on! The entire 9 months can’t ONLY be about your body falling apart. As an expectant mother who is considering reading this book, I assume you’re already stressed and anxious. Well, let me share a little good news: not everyone will have varicose veins on their vulva, experience constant heavy discharge, develop hemorrhoids the size of apples in the first trimester, or have painful gas that would send a truck driver running for the hills. This book also gives advice on how to lie about your pregnancy until you’re ready to talk about it with co-workers and family members…the advice is comical. Thankfully, there’s also some standard information about pregnancy that saves this book from receiving 1 star. Nevertheless, this is a very immature look at pregnancy from a drama queen. If you want something warm, factual, and positive, I suggest you look into purchasing, “Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy: From Doctors Who Are Parents, Too!” or “The Healthy Pregnancy Book: Month by Month, Everything You Need to Know from America's Baby Experts (Sears Parenting Library).”If you want a book that’s light-hearted, I suggest you order, “Do Chocolate Lovers Have Sweeter Babies?: The Surprising Science of Pregnancy.”

Good read for moms and dads. Also makes a nice gift.
When my wife and I found out we were having a baby I wanted to find a book for both of us to read. I saw this recommended on a few websites and the price was right so I tried it out. I found it answered a lot of her concerns, gave her info about what to expect, and helped me understand some of the changes going on. It's well laid out and has interesting info for everyone (from expecting parents, to friends, to grandparents). At the start of each month we would what was in store for us the following month so that we didn't become overwhelmed and it was easier to understand what was going on at that moment.Since the brith of our daughter I've purchased this book for two other friends who are expecting. It's a great gift.

Awesome alternative to typical pregnancy books
This is all happy stuff and others relating to pregnancy. It's not a book to tell you everything that will possibly horribly go wrong with you within each week of each trimester. No this book doesn't glamorize anything... but it also doesn't scare you into thinking that your hairy pregnant belly means you're having a bear baby. Hah.I think this is the perfect amount of information to not make you worry about things you DO NOT need to worry about. But also enough information that if you aren't having the 'perfect pregnancy' that you still get help through this relating to the little stories through each couple months it's separated by throughout the book.Awesome gift to give someone who just found out they are pregnant. It's a happy pregnancy book... not "here scare yourself to death" or "here you don't know anything... learn something." kind of gesture. It's all around a awesome read and happy thoughts!

Book content looks great. Wish they had better packaging since this was a timely gift and have to return since the book was bent before packaging. The cover is really thick, so the bend was not fixable. Only 4 stars due to packaging.

Good easy read
A good easy (entertaining) read that lets you know what to expect as your pregnancy progresses. Lots of good information in an easy to digest format. Although I did find that the free ap for my cellphone contained the same articles/information word for word (The ap has more) so I think you could save $ depending on your preferred format
