Excellent sharpener for my soft prismacolor pencils. Very gentle on the pencil and you can select the point length. Haven't had a single breakage while sharpening using this on settings 1 & 2. It is bigger than a standard pencil sharpener, and made of quite thin plastic - so I'm not sure how durable it will be long term, and it's expensive for a pencil sharpener (I guess this is because it's imported from Japan). The shavings catching part is quite small and needs frequent emptying, and the little cover for this seems extremely flimsy. Having said that, it's really easy to use and does a very good sharpening job. If you are having trouble with core breakage when sharpening coloured pencils, this is the one to use to avoid this.

I have recently purchased castle arts gold coloured pencils but found that my derwent hand crank sharpener was virtually eating them when I tried to get a sharp point. I have other normal sharpeners but wanted one that would also catch all the sharpenings. This sharpener feels very quiet and gentle as you use it but gets a nice sharp point and doesnt reduce the pencil in the same way as my derwent. It is also much easier to carry about or use on my sofa.

The blade is sharp and it is possible to easily adjust the sharpening to a number of different lengths of point. So far I have not had any problems with the sharpener on a number of pencil types.

Produces a really sharp point.Will not fit all pencils, small capture chamber, a bit expensive.

I needed a pencil sharpener to travel with. This popped up whilst watching a pencil coloring video tutorial. This pencil sharpener was great at sharpening my Polychromo coloring pencils on a 4.5 setting without removing too much wood. However, my Caran d'Ache pencils I struggled with due to the thickness of the pencils and my Brutfuner pencils were a 'no go' due to the square thickness of the barrel. I slightly concerned with the strength of the casing. I found the sharpener to be a little 'flimsy' especially when removing the panel to extract the shavings. I really like that you can change the dial settings and due to the translucent case it is easy to view when it needs to be emptied. Overall, happy.

I use this for a different range of pencils it's good because you can change the point on the pencil to what you need.

I purchased this specifically for my Holbein pencils, as it is made by the same company. It's a fabulous sharpener that not only puts super points on my Holbeins, but also the Derwent Drawing, Artists, Lightfast & Chromaflow, Caran D'ache Luminance and Faber Castell Polychromos. The sharpener is comfortable to hold and leaves the wood casing smooth. The choice of 5 angle settings is very useful and I have settled on setting 4 as my preference.

This sharpen is great to carry with you if you are out and colouring or for the odd one or two pencils if you are working on a page. I wouldn’t like to sharpen a large new set with it. I like you can choose how sharp you want the point on the pencil to be.
