A better rating would be 4.5--leaving 5 due to how great the taste is. If you're a true beef jerky connoisseur like me, you likely prefer not all that brown sugar that ruins perfectly good meat. This is soy sauce based, which all should be. You will not beat the flavor with this brand. The missing half star is because some pieces are stringy, but the meat can easily be chewed around it.

I love this stuff and have spent way way too much money on this beef jerky over the past year. I looked at my Amazon orders and added up how much I spent on jerky and I could have bought a used car at this point. I guess I could have worse addictions…

Best beef jerky EVER!

I love beef jerky, but I am in no way an afficionado. I seem to struggle to find jerky with both great, traditional flavor, and an acceptable texture... not too soft, but not stringy or tough. This was great on both counts.I will say this, though: unless you live alone, you need to order it secretly, or buy more than one bag, so you can hoard it all to yourself and not have to share!
