Clear exercises and a great compliment to college studies
Arrived in good time from seller. The book is suitable if you've started basic Spanish so have some vocabulary. I am using it alongside college classes and find it really helpful. I use this alongside libro del alumno. A little expensive for what it is, but it has helped my studies

Useful but not a necessity
Its good extra practice that relates to Ele Actual: Libro del alumno A1 but its not a necessity as there are a lot of exercises in the full book itself. Like others though I really wish they would but the instructions in English not Spanish.

This Book is Difficult for Raw Beginners
Since the book is entirely written in Spanish, and it's title isn't given in full anywhere in the book, let me translate its title. ELE is an acronym meaning "Espanol Lengua Estranjera" (Spanish for Foreigners) and "Actual" means "Current", in English. Hence the title means "Current Spanish for Foreigners"."ELE Actual" is the name of the updated version of the old book "Nuevo ELE".Books A1 and A2 cover Beginners' Level Spanish. Books B1 and B2 are for Intermediate Level Spanish and so on. Those who progress well can eventually take a Diploma and this is called "DELE" (Diploma in Spanish for Foreigners). At each level there are three books, with titles and sub-titles on their front covers as follows:-ELE Actual A1 Libro del Alumno (Student's Spanish Textbook). This book is essential for this course.ELE Actual A1 Cuaderno de Ejercicios (Student's Book of Spanish Exercises). You may need this book.ELE Actual A1 Guia Didactico (Teacher's Guide Book). Students don't need this book. The first book above is generally well designed inside. To overcome the ubiquitous language problem, many good coloured cartoon pictures are shown to illustrate individual words. Each chapter covers a topic, such as the alphabet, or family relationships, with two good audio CDs inside the back cover. One of my criticisms is that little of the above is explained anywhere in the book. If you are a raw beginner, you will definitely need a Spanish - English dictionary which must include simple Spanish words such as: eres, dice, duermo, he, somos, sigue, somos, tiene, viene, vais.Since Spanish verbs should be learnt by declining them, you will need a book of Spanish verbs. Fortunately, only the present tense is dealt with in this book.

Secondary to the textbook
Required for my course. Not such good value as main text and probably only essential if specified for course. Format feels more obviously for young rather than more mature learners

Good value
Good value, cheaper than the shop recommended by my evening class.
