does exactly what you would expect it to
This works well and I love that it folds up and fits under my breadbox. My only complaint is that the knife that comes with it is too short, but I understand for it to fit in the attached storage spot it needs to be that size. One thing I didn't notice is there are three different-sized slicing options, and it takes a bit of getting used to if, like me, you slice the whole loaf at once you have to continually remove the pieces after slicing to get the same-sized slices throughout a loaf. All in all it made my life easier and it was worth buying.

Make life easier
I found the product to be as advertised, well made. It made slices more uniform and it was very stable . The knife was a welcome added touch! Would definitely recommend.

Overall easy to operate. Unfortunately the knife that came with destroy fresh bread. It was not a smooth cut.

High Quality
It works good and best thing is that it didn't take much space as it fold down , and the canvas bag is best addition.

Just didn’t work for me.
I bought it to slice sourdough bread. The bread was too wide, so I cut in half. Such a pain to use - keeps shifting and can’t get a good cut. Won’t slice the bottom of crust. I wish I had kept original box so I could return it. I guess it would/might cut something tender like banana bread, but I’m not going to haul out this huge thing to do an easy cut. I needed something that could cut crusty bread. I regret this purchase, and wasted my money.

There is a technique to using this...
There is a technique to using this that is not detailed in the accompanying manual or any instruction thereof. The knife is too short to be going a full perpendicular to the top of a loaf of bread and when attempted, there is a lot of frustration, a lot of grief, and ruined bread. The best approach I have found is to point the tip of the bread knife down on the opposite side of the loaf of bread between the two guiding posts, the middle of the blade resting at a 35° angle, give or take, to the top of the loaf. Begin cutting a slice at that angle and when the nose of the knife has reached the bottom, continue cutting while bringing the handle down level on the other side.I went through 2/3 of a loaf of bread trying to figure out how to use this thing. And to add insult to injury, the thing stinks like chemicals right out of the wrapping, it says to clean it wipe with a moist cloth, and the base of the guide cracked just a few minutes after I had liberated it from the shrink wrap. For the price I paid I was expecting better and given the nature of this product, I don't think it's moral to return it even just slightly used, especially with the lack of quality control on Amazon's side. There is a cloth bag to store the slicer in when not in use. That's something at least. Uncertain of how breathable it is and if that chemical stench will dissipate over time. Not too fond of the idea of even more industry chemicals getting into my system but this is America...
