Never received from Amazon but..
I never received this item (missing item in package) so I bought it off the actual kitsch site and it is different from other regular 5 blade razors (obviously). It does shave smooth I've never shaved with a straight blade like this so I have to get used to it and keep trying to get the hang of it. Even with that said it does shave smooth when held correctly. I haven't knicked my legs per say but I've felt I put too much pressure and it felt like a razor burn yet I didn't have any razor burn if that makes sense. So it is a 5 star razor. If you're a newbie like me with this kind it'll take some time getting used to not using so much pressure and shorter strokes. It does make my skin feel smoother its a really close shave. Definitely still recommend!

Best shave I've had
I have tried everything short of safety razors and every single time I shave I get razor burn, except with this. Just follow the instructions. Some tips-If you have sensitive skin don't over exfoliate or agitate your skin before shaving.-the handle can be slippery so wash it and the hand you hold it in with bar soap so you can grip it better.-IT IS VERY SHARP, it says this but after reading reviews I feel the need to say this, I have shaved about a dozen times in my life before I gave up and just trimmed, I have never used a safety razor before, and I did not so much as mark my skin shaving with this just be careful.I will say I also bought the kitsch soap which may or may not be a factor but I am not willing to test that until my skin is used to being shaved

It’s a decent razor
I’ve used this razor at least a dozen times now and feel I can give it a proper review.First, there’s a learning curve. I cut myself more the first time I used it than I could remember. I was kind of shocked since it rarely happened prior to the razor. Keep using it, you’ll get the hang of it.Pros: I like that the handle is longer for a safety razor. I like the color and the silicone safety cap. It gives a very close shave and I think I am shaving less now because of how close it is.Cons: the handle is heavy because it is metal. I like that it’s weighty, but it puts my hand to sleep after a while. I wish it also had a nonslip strip or something to help you keep ahold of it. I feel like the blade sticks out kind of far. My husband has a safety razor and his is not out as much. He even remarked about it.Overall, I like that it’s more sustainable, a very close (sometimes too close 🩸) shave in a fun color with a long handle. I’m going to keep using it and maybe wrap a rubber band or something on the handle.

Not nearly as good as advertised
I original ordered this product because it was advertised as a razer that it easy to use, gives a closer shave, and is better for sensitive skin. I have very thick hair and very sensitive skin so I was really excited to get a better shave. I exfoliated 2 times as well as used shaving cream, but I still managed to get 5+ nicks and razer burns. I also got a large cut, which in my 5+ years of shaving my legs has never happened. It was also very difficult to maneuver around my knees and armpits. On top of that, even after moisturizing (multiple time) my skin was still ichy and extremely dry. I also exercised dozens of little bumps on my legs because of irritation. Although this razer may work for some people, it was not worth my money and I wouldn't recommend.

Sustainable and durable (mostly)
Very sustainable in the long run. Absolutely nothing was made with plastic. However, the casing did rust but that could have been due to improper storage. The silicone grip is great to offer some counterweight. Slight learning curve to ensure pressure is not being applied.

Three stars for sustainability and no PFAS--but the product sucks.
This is a perfect example of why sustainable companies often fail to gain market share: they take pains to make a product that is better for our health and the environment, while sacrificing basic aspects that make the product worth buying. This razor is not made of plastic and contains no PFAS--yet, the razor itself sucks. It's an unreasonable trade off. There is ONE other brand that looks to have a more "normal" design and is also sustainable/PFAS free, so I'm going to return this and order that one. Fingers crossed. Why does this product suck? 1) You have to put it together yourself with a straight razor, which is sketchy and risks injury, but that alone would be an acceptable trade off to avoid PFAS. However...2) YOU HAVE TO CHANGE THE BLADE EVERY SINGLE DAY. Who has time for that?! 3) AND it causes razor burn and/or bleeding almost every shave. So forget this thing.

Smoothest shave
I have tried every hair removal system out there and all of them still gave me razor burn. I have used a single blade razor back in the day but they have become hard to find. This one gave me the smoothest longest lasting shave without the razor burn.

Best ever!
Hands down this is the best razor I’ve used! Especially with my kitsch shave butter!
