Description doesn’t match story but meh, still excellent.
To speak to my title, the REAL description would be more like this: “Dick Grayson is all set to begin his plan to uplift the city of Blüdhaven through the Alfred Pennyworth Foundation. Unfortunately Blockbuster likes Blüdhaven the way it is, and hires numerous hit men to end Grayson’s life. Features appearances from his friends from the Teen Titans, particularly the Flash, plus a Superman crossover.”It’s not the best non-spoilery description, but I tried. Anyway, if you enjoyed the first volume “Leaping into the Light,” you won’t want to put this one down. There’s more action, great visuals, and some fantastic quiet moments where the characters get to just be their honest selves. This volume has the issue that made me believe in Tom Taylor in that yeah, the real Dick Grayson longtime fans had missed was back. There’s a good reason why this volume is number one in new releases as I write this. Impatient for April for the next volume!

high flying fun
It’s been a minute for me with Nightwing. Enjoy the story arc and the artwork. Dick Grayson has always been my Robin growing up and grew up with him becoming Nightwing. Love that he is a cornerstone of the DC universe!

decent story, but a downgrade from the first volume.
Before i start i would like to say that the first volume is one of my favorite comics ever made, that book balanced a fun and lighthearted tone with a serious and dark tone, it had some jokes but it also had blockbuster crushing peoples skulls, but the tone was always perfectly balanced. I liked the dark moments in the first volume and i liked the jokes but this volume has none of the dark and serious moments from the first one, its ALL just lighthearted super hero shenanigans. before i say what i really didn't like i'm going to list some things i thought this volume did well. first of all the art is AMAZING this story like the last one is just bursting with style art wise and i loved it. so this story is about how dick grayson is getting hunted by an assassin called La agente Funebre which is a legendary assassin supposedly and everyone in this story hypes up how legendary she is, but at the final battle nightwing and the flash beat her so easily it felt really anticlimactic. Also this story has way, way WAY, too many cameos, now i liked the cameos in the first volume they were subtle and effective also there weren't too many of them. this volume has zero subltety as far as cameos go, it goes so far that they aren't even cameos anymore this story should be called Nightwing and friends because EACH ISSUE is basically about nightwings friends as much as it is about him. the cameos are: ALL of the teen titans, mister terrific, supermans son, superman, batman, and the flash, yeah, like i said this isn't even a Nightwing comic anymore. I know it sounds like I hate this comic, i don't it was just disappointing compared to the first volume, all in all a pretty standard and basic story nothing special, it was mid.

Get Grayson
Tom Taylor understands Dick Grayson like few other writers. I think this is the best run on the title since Chuck Dixon. Action packed, yet full of heart and character development.I loved the appearances by Jon Kent and Wally West. It's nice to see some back story with Jon, and that Dick really does care about h.Also, it's nice to see Wally back where he belongs, as the Flash, with the nonsense that was Heroes in Crisis finally behind him. That, and that these guys are best friends, which Taylor shows beautifully.I hope this creative team is on Nightwing for a very long time.
