Bought to store and dispense TP in an outhouse. We've been storing the roll in a coffee can because mice will occasionally get in and use any exposed paper to make nests. This serves its purpose great but I'm not sure the material will hold up to gnawing, and may just end up adding another material for them to nest with. In the meantime, before putting this out, I'm remodeling the outhouse inside and out and hope to make it critter-proof! The only reason I only rated it 4 stars was the tightness and difficulty of getting a full roll to feed properly - not impossible but difficult. I would recommend that you take the new, full roll, and replace one in your bathroom that has been used and is a little smaller in diameter than a full roll. Other than that, it works fine. We also have sewn on a velcro strap that lays over the feed flap to hold it down tight. We attached a velcro tab above and below the flap so you can fasten the strap out of the way when not stored, but can seal up the container when needed. I doubt this would be a concern for most other uses, although I've had mice invade an occupied tent or camper as soon as the lights go out. Overall, it does a good job protecting the TP roll, yet easy to load and use. Haven't exposed it to direct moisture but I feel it should be reasonably water resistant, although I wouldn't submerge it or leave it out in a hard rain. It does have a tight synthetic zipper on it but suspect water would seep in if submerged for any length of time. Looks nice, and hope it fools the mice! Nothing to see here citizen.,
