This is an unusual interesting book to read when it comes to knowing about health
Since 1981, when I then bought and read the book by Linus Puling: "Vitamin C, the Common Cold, and the Flu", I've bought and read hundreds of doctor and health books, that is especially how to live well, and what to take as food, but still in this book I found many interesting details. This is of course also coursed by that the science each year, when it comes to our health, will be continuing discovering new subjects.I many times starting laughing when reading the remarks from other persons which we have in the start of each of the chapters, and which fits fine to what's told in the following writings. But I also found all of the patients cases, which we are learning about, highly interesting. And as I for example, since childhood, have been reading much world history, it to me was very thought-provoking, on the side 183, to read that it has been discovered that corpses of ancient Romans shows unusual high qualities of lead in their bodies. And therefore some historians now are speculating over if this should be the reason for the Roman Empire to collapse. And thereby I automatically start thinking on Nero, and the burning of Rome in the year 64.It's also very interesting to read the chapter "Radioactive Fallout", which starts on the side 238, as I first by reading these sides am learning about how much worse the disaster concerning the case with about the Fukushima reactor is when compared to the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. And that especially the biggest problem is coursed by that the Fukushima reactor not has been encapsulated so fast as the Chernobyl reactor was. And by reading this chapter I'm wondering why I not yet, in the daily news, have got any of this information.But especially the chapter, "Vaccination", starting on the side 278, is thought-provoking, that is starting speculation, about also still in the future, just automatically always just to accept vaccinations. And concerning this problem we in this chapter are getting many interesting details, for example telling some number of children who died from adverse reaction to common vaccines. And we learn how the governments not will come with statistic by which we could compare the results between either vaccination ore vitamins. That is, to prove what is best.The only 2 details, which to me, is missing in the book, is that concerning the Estrogen, we are missing information telling that the Estrogen we are getting normally either is existing as the Estrone (-), the Estradiol (-), or the Estriol (+), or a mixture of these. And the (-) and (+) here is telling weather bad or good with respect to the Breast Cancer. And likewise I recall that I also was reading about the vitamin K, but not stating either K1 or K2, and for these there is very important difference in for what they are working.But once again, it's a highly interesting book, and after that I now have read the whole book I without doubt have become a higher spokesman for especially the vitamins C and E, than I was before. And besides I also now more than before am thinking 2 times when eating meat, that is not to eat too much meat but instead most of fruits and vegetables.

MUST HAVE, EASY READ , USEFUL INFO!!!
Try the super remedies and see for yourself...and when using high dose C, dont UNDER-do it, just go for it...I like to do a hybrid of vitamin c foundation and Dr. Saul's...when I am not feeling well, I like to start with 8000, then in 3o min do 6000, then in 30 do 4000, then in 30 do 2000 every 30min...it gets me to tolerance fast with less clock watching, but keeps me from overshooting the sweet spot...then it's very important to keep a decent dose the next 10 days...it's easy to feel better and forget that part...I made that mistake a few times! ...Has a fun easy writing style, not a dry read at all...My husband and i went vegan a year ago ( we have a cheat meal once or twice a month, so you dont have to be the weird food people at events LOL, but we treat that food like alcohol...not great for you, but if only once in a while, your body can clean up)..he went completely off his GOUT meds ( wich his dr said wouldnt work), and my cholesterol wich was high even when i followed a non cholesterol diet ( it wasnt vegan, it had a lot of "healthy" bars and shakes and fish etc...), and was high since i was 13 when my father died from a heart attack( they had just discovered the liver making its own was as much a problem as diet so they checked us all) went from 230 to 170 in 2 months from plant sterols!!!...I was told by many Dr's that the ONLY way to fix that type of cholesterol was Statins...I have done hair almost 30 years and I have heard of more complaints from statins than ANY other drug!!!...AND NOT JUST MUSCLE PAIN AND WEAKNESS, BUT FATIGUE AND SYMPTOMS OF DEMENTIA!!! ( that was from a few clients in last 5 years...but i just wonder if, because its not the symptom people typically think of how many people might have had that side effect and never known??!!) I know people hate the vegan thing and like my parents and SO MANY clients, people say "I want to do what I want to do and I enjoy the other foods, and i"ll die when I die " etc,,,BUT I have watched OVER and OVER these people NOT getting to do what they want and eventually Forced out of eating what they want, and so impaired by diet related disease that all they CAN do is live their last 5 years as depressed couch potatoes who's only outing is endless Dr appts!!! or worse, living out the end yrs in a nursing home...I watched my mom who thought she was "doin what I want cuz I dont care" have a miserable depressed 5 yr decline after a stroke, losin limbs, depressed and NOT doin what she wanted because dementia and bad health took all her power away!!! THAT SCARES ME enough to change my diet now...and with all the online recipes, we love the food we eat...if theres a recipe you dont like, dont eat it...eat the food you like in the vegan arena, and once in a while have the bad stuff...try all the stuff he recommends for 3 months...you can always go back to what you were doin...but that probably isnt workin for ya, or you wouldnt be reading this book ;)

Good read and ideas for alternative health
Good read and ideas for supporting alternative heath. There are a tons of ideas to ponder and try for supporting the body. Everyone's body is different so sometimes a one idea fits all may not be effective. However, it is very though provoking for someone seeking alternative supportive health methods.

Holistic health bible
I bought this a couple months ago and finally cracked it open. It obviously cannot fit every disease, sickness, ailment, or pain inside but man does it have a lot of information on many common ones! Andrew Saul really emphasizes the benefits of vitamin C throughout the book. And through personal experience, I can attest to the usage of this fantastic vitamin. I found myself sending some screenshots of random pages to friends that I knew were suffering with some of the ailments I read. He even mentions a section about how to potentially heal receeding gum lines!

An alternative doctor
Excellent read if you want alternatives to pharmaceutical drugs.Lots of case histories and many quotes from pioneering doctors as far back as the 1940s.

Wonderful book to refer to
Wonderful book to refer to, and to live by!Our bodies are quite unique, and should be treated with respect......when Drs. try to alter the functioning of the body to `remedy' ailments, they are `playing with fire', and oftentimes, the `cure' is worse than the `disease'.Personally, I had two major issues I had to deal with in my life, and was put on the anti-depressant `Effexor XR'.If you want to find out how very potent these prescribed drugs can be, .....then Effexor XR is your poison!I had so many side effects from this medication that I insisted on being taken off of it....and I wasn't at the highest dosages that I've seen online either!Effexor has to be `withdrawn' from your system gradually, and so it was with me..........however, even with withdrawal, there are residual symptoms that one experiences, and until your system is rid of the poison, you continue to suffer.Enter........Dr. Abram Hoffer, and Dr. Andrew Saul!I went online and read everything I could about anxiety and panic attacks, etc., because that's what I was dealing with,.......and I found out that Niacin 3 (Thiamin) is and excellent source of treatment, along with Vitamin C, so I got myself started on dosages that I felt were relatively small. I took Vitamin B3 (500 mg.) three times per day, along with 1000 I.U. of Vitamin C. Those were the main two vitamins I took every day, and I swear that the difference was like night and day.No more anxiety attacks (which I was experiencing on withdrawal from Effexor XR) and I actually felt calm for the first time in many years.I sent for the book `Doctor Yourself' by Dr. Andrew Saul, and have been reading it since receiving it in the mail.Sure is an `eye-opener' in many respects, and a definite answer to a lot of questions about how our bodies assimilate what they are lacking. It only makes good sense to me!One aspect of mega-vitamin therapy that I am now pursuing, is to locate and seek assistance from those who are Registered Orthomolecular Therapists............the reason being, ..... that I want to have an analysis of my personal dietary and vitamin needs to correct deficiencies, and this is a more accurate way of determining those needs through the help of a learned therapist.I want the `dosages' for my health issues to be correct (not guesswork) and thus aid in regaining my energy and good health.To sum it up..........I am forever grateful to Dr. Saul for writing this book........It seems there are people out there who are smart enough to know what our bodies truly need, and how to replace what is missing with nourishing food and all the good stuff we need!Thanks, Dr. Saul,..........and all your associates who are working tirelessly `to improve what's broken'.Kudos to you all!Highly recommend this book for those who are feeling defeated by health issues that seem to have no answers. There ARE answers, but you have to put the effort into finding them. This is the reading you need, preferably along with an ROT (Registered Orthomolecular Therapist).
