** I put most of the reviews for different wood species here because often I am unable to put them where they go.The first box (half blind dovetail) from Wenge, and Black Limba. The Wenge on the front and sides, I also got from Cherokee.The second box, I made from Leopard wood from Cherokee It is accented and reenforced with Wenge miter keys from Cherokee. Top, Wenge from Cherokee. Again, nice wood.Third box (through dovetails), Black Limba font and back. Wenge sides. Top is ringed with Black Limba, center of top is Wenge--all from Cherokee. Best wood I can find.Forth box is Leopard Wood, with Wenge accent. Both woods are from Cherokee. The quality of all the wood I have gotten has been straight, flat, and nicely figured.In the fifth box I made, the Wenge ends and top inlay came from Cherokee.This is for ¾" X 24" Purple heart. This board was a bit twisted. I just jointed 1 face, then planed the other side to to match the jointed side. I may have lost ⅛ thickness. The result is the purple box with a cross on top.This review is for ¾" X 5" X 36" Leopardwood. Again, it is great lumber to build with. This resulted in a Leopardwood box, with Wenge dovetail Miter Keys, and Wenge top with Leopardwood inlays.The Urn is Walnut, with Wenge miter keys, and top. Cherokee again :)

The maple was very good quality grain, very flat, no warpage at all.

Measurements accurate, shipping quick and free, and wood solid and clean upon arrival.I chose cedarwood for this skateboard deck project (8" x 33", an awkwardly long size) because it wouldn't rot outdoors and would also smell nice. It wasn't too hard to drill into and shave down with a hand rasp and rotary abrasive stone.It broke in half longways after about 1.5 months of use--and with many holes I'd drilled while trying out different combinations of wheelbases and nose/tail lengths--on the first day that I could finally ollie on it.This was a great deal on wood, even if it would have made a better cutting board or floating shelf than skateboard.I'm happy that this company offers many types of wood in many sizes, though I really wish they sold wood in wider sizes--like 9" to 10"--so that I could build a 9" x 33" skateboard deck. I only made it awkwardly narrow at 8" because that was the widest size I could find here.

Many years ago I bought a wooded ornimental music box while visiting Germany. I recently found it and noticed it was missing a few Birchwood pieces. I had to replicate a couple of blades that fell off and were lost through the years. This wood worked out perfectly. With a little cutting, sanding, and stain. It looks and works like the day I bought it at the German shop those many years ago.

The faces need planing due to chip out, but is definitely the species they're supposed to be. Seem flat upon initial glance. Will check for square and update.

as most people know when you order wood you never know how good it will be.this is the best wood i could ever expect. i will be ordering more and will show it to otherpeople so they can order from this same place without worry. thank you Cherokee wood!
